send me some good vibes...
my DH called ... he just lost the job he hasnt even started yet ...
he was super psyched to start his new job at regional on monday. they called him and said they were making cutbacks and they couldnt fulfill their obligation to hire him.
in the meantime, he quit his previous job last week, my hours have slowed down for the winter, and we're not sure if he can apply for unemployement.
can you just send some good vibes our way? thanks.
Re: send me some good vibes...
he's in the psych/mental health field. he had a decent job, but was so happy to quit and really advance in his field. they were going to help with grad school and it was the perfect "next step".
we're pretty bummed and slightly at a loss for words. he came highly recommended -- but we're firm believers in "things happen for a reason".
the situation just stinks...
I'm not sure where you guys live or if he'd be interested in working with children, but I work at Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 and there are always job openings of some sort. I know there's been some budget cuts so there probably aren't as many openings as normal. I don't know if there are any for a psychologist posted right now, but he could always put in a resume. I'm not sure what his certs are, but its a great place to work.
Depending on where you guys live he could check out any of the other IUs. York area is IU 12. I think Harrisburg area is IU15, but I could be wrong on that number.
Good luck to you both. Everything happens for a reason!
I don't know where you live by Friendship Community is a great place to work and that is in the mental health field. www.friendshipcommunity.net
geniune thank you's for the suggestions. ive passed them along to DH (i hope i'm not being a nagging wife! hah.) - he's got a few calls in at a few different places - we're keeping our fingers crossed.
hope you are enjoying your thanksgiving festivities!
