Re: WFB/L/D? And lunch ideas

  • WFB? Coffee, blueberry bagel with low fat cream cheese and oatmeal with strawberries

WFL? Leftover mini meatloaf with mac and cheese and snap peas

WFD? Hot dogs (trying out our new grill for the first time), baked beans and corn

What kinds of things do you bring for lunches at work? Usually leftovers if we have them. I also vary between different types of sandwiches, salads, veggies and dip, fruits, rice cakes with almond butter, hummus, etc...
  • WFB? Coffee, cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese

    WFL? Leftover mac & cheese

WFD? Probably Boston Market since I'm going to be out running errands

What kinds of things do you bring for lunches at work? Nothing, I've been drawing a huge blank on this lately and it results in me not eating lunch or just snacking. Nothing sounds good to me.

  • Breakfast: I had a two-part breakfast....green smoothie at 7 a.m., made with banana, strawberries, spinach, and Greek yogurt. Then when I got to work, I had some steel-cut oatmeal with pumpkin and walnuts.

Lunch: Veggies, brown rice, and shrimp

Dinner: I think burgers and roasted asparagus

I usually bring either leftovers or a mixture of whole-grains (brown rice, pasta, quinoa), lean protein (chicken or shrimp), and any veggies I have in the fridge, with some sort of tomato sauce or easy sauce (today is balsamic vinegar and mustard mixed today) on top. I sometimes bring a cold lunch of deli meat and cheese, salad, hardboiled egg, fruit, but I prefer a hot lunch while I'm sitting at my desk.
  • WFB? A bagel with cream cheese, then later a bowl of cereal. I feel like a Hobbitt - I need two breakfasts.

WFL? A turkey, cheese, hummus, and veggies wrap, banana, tiny bit of pasta leftover from last night.

WFD? Was going to be breakfast casserole but I need to run an errand, so I'll probably grab takeout.

What kinds of things do you bring for lunches at work? Pretty much the same as Gracie's list.

  • WFB--Cookie Crisp and milk

WFL--cheese stick and mashed potatoes (trying to eat leftovers and not waste food)

WFD--probably buffalo chicken tenders and rice a roni

As you can see, today's lunch isn't appealing.  But I usually bring leftovers if we have them, sandwiches, and I am notorious for those microwave meals.  A lot of times they are not healthy at all, but they are quick and easy.

  • imageSarahKate31:

WFB? Usually 2 pieces of whole wheat toast - 1 with butter and jam and 1 with peanut butter and a travel mug of dark irish tea with honey & milk. I have this because it is quick, portable, filling and I don't have to think about it.

WFL? Today it was quinoa with sauteed mushrooms and onions and brussel sprouts sauteed in olive oil with onions

WFD? Probably mac n' cheese and broccoli

What kinds of things do you bring for lunches at work?  I bring leftovers. I try to make sure that we always have something that includes leftovers. Otherwise, I have a cheese sandwich.

  • WFB? today I had Greek yogurt at 7:30 and then around 10 I had some pretzels as a snack

WFL? I normally don't do this but today I spent $12 on lunch from Au Bon Pain.  Their chicken salad is so yummy!

    WFD? homemade buffalo chicken bites

What kinds of things do you bring for lunches at work? sandwhichs (lunchmeat, PB&J, tuna), soup, spaghetti-o's (yes, I'm like a 5YO sometimes), hot dogs, peanut butter crackers, microwave meals, hot pockets, leftovers...pretty much anything because we have microwaves and toaster ovens here.

  • WFB? overnight oats w/almond butter and banana

WFL? going out for coworker's birthday to Ban Thai, so probably something vegetarian

WFD? "BLT" w/ seedy bread, spinach, turkey bacon and a tiny bit of mayo, S&P

What kinds of things do you bring for lunches at work? leftovers, salad, salad MADE with leftovers (like last night we had greens topped with steamed shrimp, roasted cold carrots and potatoes), sandwiches, I keep a few Go Picnics from Target in my drawer for emergencies, as well as canned soups. And I usually have a string cheese/veggie sticks/fruit to snack on throughout the day.
