Well we had planned on going to the Renaissance Fair (Kevin has never been and wanted to check it out), but my great Aunt died and the family is planning a family get together in lieu of a memorial service. I am pretty torn, because I feel like said family gathering will be rather awkward, since I haven't seen or talked to most of those people since my divorce. (and clearly I've moved way on since then). Kevin doesn't want to go to a not-really-memorial for someone he never met and I don't want to give up my one day a week with him since he works evenings. Perhaps this should have been in the confession thread.

I haven't made it to the gym in forever and I'm getting really crabby about it. Also, I need a break. I just want one evening to myself.
Any Memorial day/long weekend plans? sleeping! and the Paseo Arts festival
What are you reading right now? I just finished Out of Oz over the weekend and haven't started a new book yet. It's time for another trip to the library.
What's your favorite dessert? just one? cheesecake or a warm gooey half-baked brownie with vanilla ice cream on top.
Any vents or AWs to share with the class? I think I pulled a muscle in my upper side on Saturday. It feels a little swollen and hurts to breath deeply. I should have it looked at, but I don't know what what type of doctor to call so I'll probably just keep icing it and try to limit myself at the gym...which is so frustrating, since I was making some great strength gains and now I'm going to backslide while I rest long enough to let it heal.
What's for dinner? I made grilled marinated chicken, cheesy Basmati rice, and sauteed zucchini with cherry tomatoes.
Any Memorial day/long weekend plans? Maybe go to the Paseo Arts Festival. Isn't that on Memorial Day weekend?
What are you reading right now? A Dance With Dragons (book 5 in A Song of Ice and Fire).
What's your favorite dessert? I don't have a favorite, as I love too many things
However, peach cobbler and tiramisu rank pretty darn highly on that list.
Any vents or AWs to share with the class? Vent: I don't understand why when we win a basketball game, we have to resort to the mob mentality and people get shot. Really, people, is this LA in the early 90s? AW: I applied for a grant for my news staff for next year. The people in charge of the grant committee decided to skip all the hoop-lah with grant applications and just sponsor me, so I get the money for my proposal without having to go through any more of the application and approval processes! That means new laptops, a camcorder with microphones, a new news website and brand new furniture for my classroom, because all of mine is ancient and falling apart. No longer will I be embarrassed to have visitors in my classroom for podcasts and videos. No longer will the tables rock and squeak whenever a student erases something. I'm so excited.
What's for dinner? Probably a grilled veggie wrap on lavash bread
Any Memorial day/long weekend plans? DH is riding his bike in a local race on Saturday and I am going to a baby shower, we have a wedding on Sunday, and Monday we'll be going to several BBQs

Any vents or AWs to share with the class? I'm really looking forward to our vacation in a couple of weeks. Work has been such a source of stress lately, and I want to use this chance to recharge and evaluate whether I need to start looking for something new or just needed a break.
What's for dinner? I'm thinking spaghetti and meatballs.
Any Memorial day/long weekend plans? No solid plans right now. I want to paint the dresser in our room and if the fabric I ordered comes in then I will paint and reupholster my dining room chairs. I really want to take M to the new water park, but I'm afraid it's just going to be so crowded. We may see if one of the splash pads are open.

Any vents or AWs to share with the class? Besides my family vent below.....I don't really have anything to complain about. It's been going pretty good here. We are planning a family trip to Disney World for next April so we are very excited about that.
But I am so ready to go on vacation for a while and hang by the beach. There had been some drama at work (although it has passed now) and I'm ready to not see these people for a week.

Any Memorial day/long weekend plans? I'm visiting my college roommate in Connecticut, and she's taking me to NYC. I am SO excited.
What are you reading right now? Nothing. I really need to get back into Catching Fire.

My sister and I are planning a trip for my parents' 50th birthdays next year, and I think we're going to spend spring break 2013 going around the Hawaiian Islands. We always just go to Maui [where my mom's from] or Oahu [where I lived for awhile], so to see some of the other islands is exciting. I'm still not sure how flying with a 4-year-old and 6-month-old will work though...
My sleep cycle was doing so well last week [getting a full 8-9 hours], but the past few days, they've sucked. I've been up on and off since 4am, and I feel like crap. I need a nap.

Any Memorial day/long weekend plans? Going to my nephew's fishing birthday party, then probably more unpacking/organizing/cleaning at the new house. Hopefully some relaxing.
What are you reading right now? Some nerdy HTML/CSS/JavaScript books.

Any vents or AWs to share with the class? I'm annoyed that my parents haven't offered to help out financially with furniture/appliances for the new house. I know that's incredibly tacky, but I'm annoyed.

Any vents or AWs to share with the class? I did my first set of 5 pull ups since Chase was born! And I ran 3.2 miles on Saturday @ 11:19 pace (which is great for me - I'm NOT a runner... but I'm trying to become one). Vent: major family drama going down and I'd really like to punch someone. My mom is amazing and such a Christ-like example, I can't believe how awesome she is being when people are treating her like total trash. GRRRRRRRR. Don't mess with my people!!!!!!
