Teachers: EOY gift for students?
What, if anything, do you typically get for your students as an end-of-the-year gift? In the past I've given them a book, cute picture frame with a picture of the class in it, or a goodie bag with summer stuff in it (bubbles and I can't remember what else). I mostly had the goodie bag for kindergarten though. Any ideas for 2nd graders? $1-2 max per kid?
Thanks!

Re: Teachers: EOY gift for students?
We have a class plant each year (this year his name is Carlos the Cactus). He goes everywhere with us - library, assemblies, music, etc. He's also in our class photo.
I used to give the kids a plant on the last day of school with a little note letting them know what a pleasure it was to watch them grow throughout the year. Kids come back to me from my first class 9 years ago letting me know that their plants are still alive and have grown enough to be repotted!
My class this year is disappointing. They're getting NADA.
When I taught first grade I did class award. I thought of each student and each of them got an award that suited them. Class comedian, most caring etc. I bought certificates and on the back I attached a picture of the student with me. They were a big hit!
I dont give anything to my middle schoolers, but I've had these bookmarked if I ever have an elementary classroom:

I really like those and the price seems pretty reasonable.
I don't have any great ideas but I want to keep an eye on these ideas in case I get around to doing something for my 2nd graders (that I will have taught for 20 days by the end of the year!)
Stupid phone... "plant" idea... lol
