Headed there this weekend and need some ideas. We are staying at Ritz, are already planning to go to Budweiser, the zoo, the arch and Cathedral Basillica. Any other must sees? Any good places to eat/bars?
Re: Saint Louis
Baseball game, Busch Stadium is awesome.
Must eats - anywhere on "the hill", Zias is my favorite. If you go there, you MUST get their house salad - YUM! Pappy's BBQ downtown is very good too, get their early they're known to sell out.
St Charles is a fun area if you like antiques/little shops. Their bar district is popular with the younger kids.
City Museum - just meh, if I was just there for a weekend I'd skip it.
Downtown - we were really surprised at how dead their downtown is and the lack of restaurants/bars. It has gotten better over the last few years, but is nowhere near what I'm used to for a DT area.
I remember the zoo as being a LOT better when I was a child(then again, wasn't everything), we were disappointed when we were there a few years ago.
City Museum is a really neat place - it's great for kids and adults. Forest Park and the Zoo - although I woulr recommend getting there early and parking by the World's Fair Pavilion. The zoo has 2 new baby cubs (I was just there last week and they were playing around a lot) and then you can grab lunch at the Boathouse.
Places to Eat - Echo previous post about the Hill. Zia's is also my favorite there. Central West End is also a great area for food/bars. If you go there check out Wildflower, Kampaii, Llewyllens, Duffy's.
The zoo is actually in Forest Park. It's a really great place that has lots of room to explore. The Science Center is also right next to it.
Here's a link that explains all things about Forest Park:

City Garden is right downtown so check that out. Unfortunately it's going to be a million degrees here this weekend. Are you staying at the Ritz in Clayton or downtown? I disagree with the person who suggested St. Charles, for a weekend, not sure it's worth the trip. Instead hit the Central West End (where the Catheral is located) or the Loop for cute shops and restaurants.
If I know which location you are in, I can direct you more for restaurants.
Definitely check out the zoo but go early because it will be HOT! Also, if you go into Forest Park, you can park on the street for free, rather than paying to park in the zoo lots which will likely be full anyway. I also second City Museum.
Go to Ted Drewe's for some frozen custard. It will be a scene this weekend.
St. Louis, Missouri 63105. That is the address, I have never been there, so I am not sure if it is directly downtown?
You can't go wrong eating on The Hill, which isn't far from your hotel in Clayton. Favazza's and Adriana's are my favorites.
Gus' pretzels near the brewery is another St. Louis institution.
Personally, I'd skip St. Charles. It's a bit of a drive from where you are, and there is so much to do downtown and in Forest Park that you'll have enough to keep you busy! The Missouri Botanical Garden is a neat place to see, and it's not far from Forest Park.
This is actually in Clayton, which is about 8 miles west of downtown. You could jump on the metrolink to get downtown and to Forest Park and the Central West End (CWE). Or drive. The Metro does not go to the Hill. There are some good restaurants in Clayton-Remy's Wine Bar, Oceano (for seafood), Cafe Napoli (italian) would be some of my favorites there. If you like coffee there is a Kaldi's coffee very close to your hotel, and their food is good too.
If you go to the CWE check out Bar Italia, Brasserie by Niche, and Taste (drinks and apps).
Have fun!
