We need a Roll Call...

Jump in, jump out, turn yourself about, jump in, jump out, introduce yourself!

My name is Cati (yay!), I'm a MS-OK-MS-soon to be LA once our house sells. I gave up my bon bon eating days of being a SAHM, and now I teach HS English.  I have 2 boys (see tickers below) and the H and I will be married 7 years this June. I used to be a 'regular' around these parts, and will be gracing the great city of OKC with my presence for the month of June.

Plus, I'm off for the summer and H is working nights, so get ready for some constant posting!

    Hi Cati (with a C!)

I'm Alexis (spirit fingers!!). I'm a nurse in Ok, but demoted to a medical assistant in Tx (boo). We lived in OKC until Jan of last year, when we got PCS'd (that's mil speak for moved) to Wichita Falls, Tx (boo). I tried SAHM'atude, but I missed adult convo, so back to work I went! Have one tiny, see pic below, and have been married to hubby for 8 years. Getting ready to go back to school to finish the ol' RN so I can quit being demoted in Tx! I don't post as much as I used to because I'm home alone with lil man 5 nights a week, but I'm always lurking, bwahahahaha! But for the record... I'm beginning to lose track of who's all changed their SN and what they changed it to...

What do you mean that's the wrong side? Tastes great to me!

  • Nestie Besties!!!

Erica here....another transplanted OK Nestie. From Norman but PCS'd to SoCal courtesy of the US Navy. Married to the hubs almost 5 years and we just celebrated birth of our little. I am a nurse but currently SAHM until I find a new job that justifies putting LO in daycare. I don't post too often, but I lurk practically everyday.

No....click me!!!! Cause I'm the wedding bio! Bloggin it up! Prince Charming stole my heart and we rode off on his white horse... • I'm Jamie :) We live near Norman (though we all know where my heart belongs, Go Pokes!) and our 3rd wedding anniversary is next week.  I also turn 30 next week Indifferent.  Our son was born last summer, and he's now walking and into everything!  He keeps me on my toes, that's for sure.
DH works pipeline construction and I'm a teacher, so I'm off for the summer (whoohoo!!). I taught MS/HS Math for 3 years, and just finished my second year of teaching 2nd grade.  Other than being a SAHM to G, my other "summer job" is job hunting---we're hoping and praying I find something closer to home for the '12-'13 school year.  I lurk/post sporadically throughout the day, and more at night once G's in bed and I'm waiting for DH to get home.

    Sixth Anniversary

I'm L. Born in OK, raised in TX, OU educated, and apparently now an Okie for life. You'd have to drag me kicking and screaming out of here now! Wink I think OKC is an amazing place to live and that it's just getting better year by year. I used to work in PR/marketing, made a change to teaching high school English, and in August I'll be a part time SAHM and part time elementary teacher.

H and I met in college. He's a surgical PA and works pretty long hours. Baby G is our first child and we've been married four years. We have an ornery Australian Shepherd dog.

We've been south side metro people for years, but this summer we're moving to the north side. I'm still trying to embrace this change, as my heart has belonged to Norman for some time.

  • Hi everyone! I'm an Army brat raised primarly in Oklahoma. Both DH and I went to OU and OU Law, then moved back to Lawton to be near family. I work at a college, DH works for the city. We've been together 16 years, married for 8 this October. No kids. He loves cycling and running. I'm more into yoga and Zumba. We both love to read, so our favorite dates include Starbucks and then a trip to our library.

  • Oooh fun! Love seeing eveyone's update.

I'm Ami (I know you have never have guessed it). I was born and raised in TX, but have been in OK for 4 years now. I really love it here. DH and I will be celebrating our 6th anniversary next month. We have a 3 year old girl who keeps us on our toes all the time. Thank God for daycare! I work in accounting for an educational software company. I used to work at the same company as DH, but after 5 years of that I decided it was time to find my own work space. DH was just promoted to manager of his branch. He works for an oilfield supply company. We have a sweet little Corgi named Molly who always keeps us entertained.

  • Hello!  I am Sooner Born (in Kansas!) and Sooner Bred - still live in Norman, of course, because it is so fantastic, why would we leave?  DH and I bought a crap house a few years ago and have been fixing it up.  I love all things fashion, fashion, fashion. I have two doggies and two kitties and saw these bunnies for sale at Atwoods and now I really want a bunny.   No kids of my own but I do have a wild child step daughter who is 6.  She looks just like her daddy - big blue eyes and all - and acts just like him too. It is crazy to see how much alike they are. Melts my cold heart.  I have been on the nest/knot for eight years. Yikes!

M asks to go see the bunnies all the time. I'm sure one day when she's older we'll get her one.

  • I'm Wendy. I am an engineer working in the defense industry. I have a 4 1/2 year old from a previous marriage who keeps me laughing every day (and exhausted). I am getting married this fall and we plan to start building a house shortly thereafter. My fianc? is a police officer and we met 10 years ago when we worked at a gas station together one summer home from college.

I am generally known around here for speaking up in controversial topics. It may not always be popular, but I have always been willing to say what I believe so I'm ok with that.

  • Hi everyone!

I'm a northerner with a fading funny accent.. fading because I've lived in Oklahoma for almost 11 years now. DH and I will be celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary in a few months (yikes!). We have three "kids," two with waggy butts and one with hooves. H says the next family member we introduce to the world better not have either. ;) In addition to animals, I also love to read, and I'm known for spending my lunch breaks sitting in my car with a book.

  • I'm Jenn and I have lived in Oklahoma for about 14 years.  I went to high school and college in Norman, but live in Moore now.  I have 3 kids and I stay at home with them most of the time, but do accounting for a small business a few hours a week.  S and I were married for 7 1/2 years when he was killed in a motorcycle accident last summer.

I was planning a move to New Jersey until my boyfriend (it still feels totally weird to say that) got laid off about a week before I closed on my house.  We felt like maybe that was sign #3 we weren't supposed to go and, we flipped a coin (literally) to decide if we should stay here or go there.  Oklahoma won the toss so here we are.

I don't post often because I have three kids under my feet all the time, but I lurk sometimes while nursing the littlest one.

  • Cati, I totally remember that song from some tv show when I was a kid!

Anywho.. I'm Dani and I'm a Norman girl 4-eva. I used to be a SAHM until I got a divorce and I now work in the fitness industry as a group exercise instructor and I am the Healthy Initiatives Coordinator where I work. I also really enjoy running, though I haven't had much time to get out and do it lately.

My little boys are 3.5 and almost 2.5 and I'm convinced they are trying to kill me. I love them to pieces but seriously... they are trying to kill me.

I have a boyfriend that I'm all goo-goo over. We have known each other for years, his younger sister is one of my really good friends. We randomly decided that we should try a relationship and it's been one hell of a surprise how amazing it has been.

  • Hello. I'm a soon-to-be 30-yr-old creative services manager for an ad agency in OKC. Work takes up a large chunk of my life, but most of the time I enjoy it. H and I have been married for almost 2 years. He's creative director for a publishing company in Tulsa, and is lucky enough to telecommute. (I'm so jealous.)

We just moved from north OKC to east Edmond, and so far, we love it. I have a 7-yr-old SD from H's previous marriage, and she's awesome. Being a stepmom has been interesting, but overall it's great. H and I have been (nonchalantly) TTC for a while now, and are both very much looking forward to adding to our family. I'm big into music (love indie tunes and live shows), language (I have a degree in linguistics and Chinese from OU), love the Thunder and the Sooners, read when I can, and am trying to teach myself web programming. Yep.

I'm Ebonie. Grew up an Army brat but call Lawton home; been here 18 years in August. Been married for 3 years, have a nearly 3 1/2 year old who is crazy and wonderful, and another boy will make his arrival at the end of September.

H is in the Air Force and is currently on his first deployment. He's stationed in CO, so we'll be transplanting there when he returns later this year. Right now, I live in Stillwater [definitely bleed orange and black] and work for OSU.

  • I feel like I'm so transparent everyone already knows everything about me. lol.

I'm Tavia. Married to my high school boyfriend for 6 years :) We have 2 boys. I'm a photographer, a CrossFitter, a natural birth advocate and Christ follower. We just moved to Mustang last summer.

    That about sums me up!

  • I'm B, although I'm sure the majority already knows my name.  I'm 27.  I have a 4 year old son and have been married for 7 years this month.  I have never been happier than what I am now! (yawn!). I stay home with my son.  He starts pre-k this fall and I'm stoked to have 3 days of getting things done.  My husband and I have a service company in the oilfield industry, so he's always busy doing that and loves what he does.  I make sure we pay our taxes and pay the bills. :). We have two furbabies, a schnauzer and a huge bulldog.  I live to eat, and I am pretty liberal in most categories.  I don't care for controversy when it involves me, but I like to watch the excitement from afar!

I do ultrasounds for a living.  DH is currently job hunting, but as soon as he finds something, I'll be working weekends only so I can be a SAHM. DH and I will be married for 6 years in July. We just built a house that I love, but I secretly already know exactly what I want for the next one. We have two pups.

Our public school does pre-k from 7:55-10:55am or there's an afternoon session.  I didn't really like that...so he's attending private preschool.  They do it 3 days a week all day.  He will be in public school from K on, though.

  • What up? I'm okla. Almost thirty, divorced, former librarian. Although that sounds a little depressing, it's not. I have a ton of fun. I have the absolute best group of people in my life and I'm soooo excited that my life has turned out like  the TV show Friends. I recently turned my love of charity work and volunteering into a new career and only a week and a half in, I'm in love with my job. I like the gym - lifting and running. My dog is the best, sweetest, dumbest dog ever. I love him.

Our pre-k is half day only.  It's really completely impossible for any working parents to accommodate.  The only way to do it was to pick one that Connor's daycare could transport to and from rather than the ones closest to our house.
  • I'm TJ. 27. We've been married for 5 years. I've lived in Oklahoma nearly all my life - about 30ish miles north of Tulsa. We don't have any babies...but, hopefully soon. My blood runs orange (GO POKES!) and I love the Thunder...and most other sports. I have an extremely large and abnormally close-knit extended family. We do a ton together...most people have a hard time understanding how we can all get along so well and genuinely enjoy each other. I am a full time student in the process of getting my degree in education. I'm hoping to be done within the next year...I've spent entirely many years in school.

I apologize for any errors. I'm posting from my phone because I'm spending the week at a camp ground with about 200ish of my family members. It's awesome.

What city do you live in?  In Moore, pre-k isn't even guaranteed.  It's a lottery system, where you apply and then they eventually call you and tell you if you got in, and which school (not necessarily your home school).  You're completely in charge of transportation (aka, you're a SAHM or you have a daycare/babysitter who will transport)

I'm familiar with waiting lists (especially for transfer students), but good grief that ^^ is intense.  Obviously, I'm much more familiar with smaller districts lol.  We're very close to Norman, but not in Norman school district.  I'll PM you the town.

Whaaaat?! Full day KG isn't guaranteed? I guess I'm more clueless than I thought when it comes to these bigger schools. Hopefully our district (or wherever G ends up going because that depends on if I'm still commuting then) is small enough that we don't have this lottery business goin on. I'm glad y'all mentioned this, I had no idea....

This is why I think I'm keeping M at her daycare/school. It's a private school that goes all the way up to 6th. I didn't know KG was lottery based also. I know in TX PK is based on income and usually lower income kids get in first.
