Key West Hotel Recs Needed

We're planning a short getaway to Key West next January and are looking for recs for a decent but not obscenely expensive place to stay.  We're more concerned with being close to Duval street and the bars/restaurants than a super fancy hotel/view.  We'll be taking the Key West Express down from FMB, so we won't have a car.  We'd like to stay under $250/night.

TIA

Re: Key West Hotel Recs Needed

  • We stayed here in KW and enjoyed it. It's 1 street over from Duval, has breakfast and nice rooms.  It's farther up from the square if that matters.

  • When I visited Key West a few years ago I stayed at the Caribbean House. The price was moderate and it was an easy walk to Duval Street.
  • We stayed at the Lighthouse Court Inn.  We loved it.  It is one block off Duval, at the base of the light house and directly across from the gates to the Hemingway House.

We stayed at the Sheraton and liked it because it was across from a nice beach. They also offered shuttles to Duval Street.
  • I suggest the Best Western Hibiscus -- I'm not sure what they are charging nowadays but I thought it was sooo cheap. We had a pool and it was pretty fun. I loved it.

We took the Key West Express and walked from the boat ramp alllll the way to the hotel. We were beasts. It's less than 2 miles. I would prob cab it next time! ;)

We are staying at L'Habitation next time we are going to Key West. Closer to the action on Duval Street. I'm also pregnant this time around so marathon walking around the island isn't an option...
