Has anyone gone to DC for the 4th of July? We are planning on going the weekend after, so it wouldn't actually be the 4th. Is it busy? Dead? A lot going on? I would assume there is a lot going on but at the same time I am sure a lot of people leave there for the weekend and take long weekends. The flight for the weekend is SUPER CHEAP so I am wondering why?
Re: DC over 4th of July?
I live in Alexandria, just outside DC. The summer months in general are a popular time to travel to DC, so expect crowds. It will be hot, too. I don't think DC is ever "dead," although there are less tourists during the winter.
