How do you celebrate?

If you have a momentous occasion in your life - running a 10k, getting a huge promotion, popping out a babeh, losing the last 15 pounds, anything you've worked hard for and have now acheived - how do you celebrate it?  Go out to dinner, get a massage, just pat yourself on the back?

Look with your special eyes.

  • Camera equipment. I buy myself camera equipment. It's a rather unhealthy habit, I think and has led me to own more pretty little vintage rangefinders that any one person should.

Champagne. Usually a fancy dinner too, but if we're feeling celebratory we might just grill and drink champagne.

    And sex.

Depends on the achievement. When I lost a lot of weight, my rewards along the way were buying new clothes. When I ran a half marathon, my reward included a heaping stack of chocolate pecan pancakes and a bottle of champagne. When I left some bad relationships, I have gone to get massages/pedicures.

Mostly though, the long-term internal/mental rewards for completing achievements have been worth more than a short-term physical reward. As cheesy as that sounds!

  • I see the accomplishment as the reward.  It took a lot of work to lose that weight, and now look at me, being all skinny and sh*t.

  • Food.  And thus why I won't be celebrating the last 15 pounds, like, ever.
    This is my siggy.
  • I'd like to get a little something for myself once I hit 100 pounds lost (which should be sometime in the next 6 weeks, I'm a little over 90 now). It's a HUGE accomplishment for me, and is so much more than the weight loss.

Since I'm short on expendable cash, something little.  Maybe go to a movie I wouldn't normally pay money to see, like a chick flick.  Or a budget pedicure.  I dunno.

If it's your thing and you have any beauty schools or massage schools near you, you can get services for cheap since they need the practice.

Way to go, by the way! It is a huge accomplishment and you should be very proud of yourself!

  • I buy myself jewelry.  Come to think of it, I buy myself jewelry even when I haven't accomplished anything big.  This may be a problem.

  • Usually I share all my happiness with my friends many times they appreciate me, I love to share with my best buddies. I give them treat whenever they desire. Smile
