Xan

Okay so I don't know what happened to our other post either bc it dissappeared or i'm a dunce. lol Either way!

How often do you weigh yourself? I have been shooting for monthly but i always get too curious, and jump on the scale. Then I get a bummed because I haven't lost anything.

I'm thinking about weighting a month, and if I still don't lose anything then I think I will go to DR. and see what the issue is. I have been excercising every other day for last 2.5 weeks, and staying under 1400 calories. Someone said maybe thyroid issue? Hmmm. We'll see. But I'm trying! lol H has been doing same exact excercising with me, and he is building abs, and losing weight. jerk! haha

Yeah TN was eating posts between the new format and old format so don't worry, it wasn't you lol.

I weigh myself every Friday morning.  I try not to step on the scale during the week but sometimes I can't help it.  Some weeks I lose, some weeks I gain, some weeks I stay the same...it's an on going battle between me and the scale.

Do you think maybe you aren't eating enough calories?  If you are exercising so much and only eating 1400 calories maybe your body is holding onto them.  I'm by far an expert but I have heard of that happening before.  Don't be too hard on yourself, guys lose weight a lot easier than women do.  My DH has lost weight simply because I've been cooking a little better and refusing to eat fast food as often.  I think he's lost about 25lbs without doing anything diet related in the same time I've lost 35lbs while monitoring every single thing that I eat/drink.

Oh that's another thing, make sure you count your calories for things you drink too...I think people often forget those calories.

It could very well be your thyroid.  I was tested for that when I was younger and again a few months ago but mine came back fine.  A messed up thyroid will certainly cause weight issues.

Have you ever heard of the website www.sparkpeople.com?  I used that a few years ago when I was exercising and counting calories.  It is really helpful, gives you how many calories you should eat and how many calories you should burn per week and also has wonderful tips, recipes, message boards, etc.

Butting in Smile  I also am no expert, but I have been told that your body can go into "starvation mode" and hold onto calories if it's not getting enough.
