XP - Need Dr recs...

This is a bit unusual, but I am looking for a smart and determined dr in the Marietta/Smyrna are to help my mom.

She has been in excruciating pain for a couple of weeks. The pain is coming from her lower left side of her abdomen. She went to the emergency room (Kennestone) and they could't find anything wrong with her kidneys/appendix, or anything abnormal on the ct scan, so they sent her home. Mom went to see her primary care dr and they sent her back to the emergency room. Once again, the emergency room couldn't find anything wrong with her and sent her home. They told her to see a gastro dr. The gastro dr did a colonoscopy and didn't find colon cancer, so he sent her to a surgeon to have exporatory surgery. The surgeon said he wouldn't operate becasue he thought it was her hip and he referred her to a hip dr. The hip dr told mom her hips were fine, and suggested she go see a back dr.

I am about to lose my mind! My poor mom has been passed around and not one dr really gives a crap enough to figure out what's going on. In the mean time she is severely suffering. Sad

I don't know where to turn, or who to ask. I am from McDonough, so my friends are not familiar with drs in her area. Please help if you can.

  • Has she seen a gynecologist? If she still has her uterus, she could have endometriosis. The amount of endometriosis you have is not tied to how much pain you have, so she could have a tiny bit of endo that is causing her extreme amounts of pain. It sounds like she very well may need exploratory surgery.
