Everyone ok?

Anyone get any storm damage last night? We lost power for about an hour, but no complaints here. Hope everyone is ok!

  • Oh man, what a ride. We're fine here. I was a little worried about my little garden plot with the hail. We only had pea-ish sized hail, but still...some of the plants are still kind of small. Not only is the garden fine this morning, I think it looks even happier today than yesterday. Just tons and tons of rain here.

Red Rock on the lake burned last night :(

  • We are good! We had a few tennis ball-sized pieces of hail very early on in the evening, but then after that we pretty much had quarter sized hail, some bigger, some smaller. I'm exhausted though.

  • Things are good in east Edmond. We had decent-sized hail, but no damage. Our old neighborhood in the Village got hit hard, though. Our old neighbors lost several windows on their house and their cars are destroyed. So crazy - I didn't even know it was supposed to storm yesterday. They're saying we could be in for it again this afternoon!

  • We got rain and hail in Norman but that is it. I will admit, I am disappointed.  We want about $20k of work done to our exterior and everytime there is a storm, I beg Mother Nature to take care of it but...nada. We desperately NEED new windows (they are original), new gutters (seller installed them improperly so they don't work, isn't that nice), a new garage door (has been broken ever since we moved in), and I want new paint.  Very frustrated.  (I know this post is completely stupid but seriously, our deductible is around $6k so we would save massive moola by Mother Nature taking care of it).

Glad everyone is safe and suffered no substantial damage.

  • We are fine. We did have some damage to a section of our fence, but other than that all is good. When the storm came in last night we did lose power. After it passed we decided to go spend the night at the ILs. It was starting to get stuffy and M can't sleep without a fan going.

  • My sister lives not far from the capital, and a transformer blew...so she's been without power since the storms first started last night. Might be back on by now.

I was with her when the storms hit, and that was freaking scary. It looks like my car's OK, but I do have some dings. My mom ran into a storm outside of OKC and has some pretty decent hail damage [and her van's only a year old, boo], so they're dealing with insurance. I hope things are quieter tonight for everyone!

  • We are good over on the west side. No damage, just a lot of heavy rain, wind, and small hail.

  • We are fine as well...it was quite interesting, only day 3 into OK, and we have a storm :0)

We weren't affected too much down here in Moore.

I wanted to drive by the house we're under contract on, but didn't make it up there today. Our realtor drove by and said our new neighborhood didn't get hit by the large hail, and that there were just lots of leaves strewn about--no limbs or other debris. Thank goodness!

Whoa, what??? Tell us more! Congrats!

  • H says the house is fine. I was at the airport waiting for a flight that had been delayed at its previous airport. By the time it arrived, the first storm in the system just came through so we were delayed even further while they waited for that to pass then inspected the plane for hail damage.  We boarded the plane between storms but didn't make it out before they shut the runway down for lightening from the second wave of storms, so we sat on the plane for 30-45 min before finally taking off. I didn't get to my destination till around 1 am, when we were supposed to arrive around 8:30pm. At least I was traveling with coworkers I like, so I had good company during the long wait.

  • I was severely traumatized yesterday. We were driving home from Texas and got caught in a horrible rain/hail storm. There was no where to pull over on the interstate and I thought for sure the hail was going to break our windows, but we made it out with just a few dings in the top of the truck. I think for the most part our house is in one piece. We probably need to have our roof looked at.

I have experienced that. It's so scary to be driving and think hail is going to break through your windshield at any moment. Glad you just got a few dings.

How scary! I would be traumatized too. I'm glad you just got a few dings, and I hope your roof is ok!

Thanks! We should have an east Edmond GTG since it seems there's at least three of us currently. Not sure who else is in Edmond towards the west...
