Recomend your "mom car"

We are thinking about possibly getting a new car since it is a little crowded with the car seat in the back seat and I'd like to be able to fit more than 4 in my car. Preferably, I'd like something with air conditioning vents in the back and captains chairs. Any suggestions?

Re: Recomend your "mom car"

  • I think we are going the soccer mom route this fall and getting a *gasp* minivan. I swore I would never drive one. However, when we were in Disney, we rented a van and we had a Dodge caravan and I fell in love. It has the vents in the back, so much room (storage and people room). I liked the way it drove and the look of a minivan isn't as bad as it used to be, I guess they are more modern. I think overall they are safer and cheaper to insure too.

  • I have a 2012 Kia Sorento EX and I love it!  It only seats 5 but it has so much space in the back for cargo and storage.  It also has vents in the back on the sides.

I love having leather seats for kids so it can just be wiped down.  I love love love my back-up camera which I never thought I would.  We got a V4 instead of the V6 for a little bit better gas mileage because we have a truck if we ever need to tow anything.

  • We have a GMC Terrain and I LOVE it!! I wish that I could fit 3 car seats in the back, because if I could I'd never trade it in. It has plenty of room for 2 car seats with enough room in between for someone to sit comfortably. It's also very good on gas considering it's size (36 miles per gallon on the highway I think).

  • We have a dodge charger and Lucas has plenty of room and we have a chevy cruze, which he has a little bit less room for his legs.  They both only seat 5 but the cruze would probably seat 4 comfortably.

  • I drive a Mazda CX-7 and love it. With 1 car seat it will comfortably fit 5 people. We have had an adult and our 75lb dog along with Eli's car seat in the back. It is a hatchback so there is lots of storage in the back. If we had wanted more room we were going to go with the Mazda CX-9 because it has 3rd row seats. That isn't ideal for car seats back there but with older kids who can climb back and buckle themselves in it isn't a problem.

  • It's not a mom car but we got it for that in mind. I LOVE my ford fusion sel. The amenities are awesome and the backseat is huge!
