caffeine in coffee question

I'm currently googling but sometimes you girls are faster than google.  I'm going to the Phillies game Friday night and to make up the hours that I would've stayed late (to make up for not getting paid for Monday since I'm a contractor - boo!).  In order to be able to "hang" since it's a rare girls night out, I'm needing some serious caffeine.  I refuse energy drinks and prefer to get mine from good old coffee.  Soooo do any of you know what has the most out there?

Because it turns out while the caramel macchiato from SB has espresso in it, it actually has less caffeine than regular brewed coffee.  Who knew?!

Black coffee with a shot of espresso. Both DD and Starbucks sell it. I want to say it's called a red eye.  Also, an espresso machiato from Starbucks is heavy on the caffeine, with 3 shots of espresso topped with foam (no milk).

Black tea can also be helpful. I have found that it doesn't give me the jittery shakes as much as too much coffee can. I have no idea why, since caffeine is caffeine, but I have found that the alertness I get from black tea isn't as jarring as the coffee + espresso drinks.
  • Refill and vodka.
  • My coffee of choice at Starbucks is an iced red eye, light ice. It's iced coffee with a shot of espresso in it. If you wanted to kick it up another notch, you could order a double shot red eye, or a triple. I once saw a a guy order 5 shots of espresso in a venti cup topped off with ice.

Honestly, your probably don't need to go overboard. Once you're out and having fun, you'll probably be fine. And if you're feeling like you need a pick-me-up while you're, I'm sure it won't kill you to have one redbull with vodka.

  • Not exactly what you asked but my caffeine of choice in the afternoon was always a diet mountain dew. G-d I loved that stuff.  Staying away from it now because I'm BFing but I had half of one before I had to teach an afternoon boot camp class and I nearly had the shakes.
