Re: Clicky Poll: RSVPing

  • It drives me up the wall when people don't rsvp, especially for events like showers where favors are involved.

DH's friends are the worst culprits. They always wait until like a day or two before the party to rsvp even though I can see that they've viewed the evite like every single day.

  • I know the crowd/crowds I'm dealing with and most of the time I already know who is/isn't coming.  So its nice when people RSVP, but I try not to be too Emily Post-ish about it.

Other than my wedding, I can't really say its mattered much budget-wise if the numbers were different than expected.

  • As a self-described control freak, I voted for the first option. It's not that hard to RSVP, especially when all it takes is one click if you are using Evite or Facebook.

  • It depends on the event and the crowd. For a low-key get together with my family, I pretty much know who's coming. For M's annual birthday party there are usually a handful of friends invited that I'd prefer to know if they're attending, especially if there are any specific dietary needs to which I should cater. I'm hosting my BFF's baby shower at the end of June and I'm really hoping people RSVP since I don't know these folks well and it'll be a pain to hunt them all down.

  • I said that it makes me stabby.  I was extremely happy when everyone RSVP to DS's birthday party.  I have never had that happen before.  People either told me in person or called.

I get insanely angry though when people RSVP to a wedding and do not show up.  We had 10 people RSVP to ours and didn't show up.  That was $50 a head and you screwed me.
