Jcrew swimwear fail :(

I ordered 2 tankinis and both were awful. The swing top had so much fabric it looked like a maternity top and the other top did not have proper lining, ya know to prevent the world from staring at my nipples. Ugh. Clearly I am not meant to get a new suit this year.

As much as I love JCrew, their swim line always fails me. Regardless of how cute the items look in the catalog, they look terrible on.

I'm always surprised by the nice selection of swim suits that Lord & Taylor carries. They have a nice selection ranging from Juicey, Kors, Ralph Lauren, etc.

  • Of course that is the one place I didn't go today. I always forget they are there b/c nothing else is in that section. Maybe I will swing by this weekend.

I've always had pretty decent luck with Victoria's Secret swimwear. It's never in stores, so that's a bummer that you have to order online without trying it on, but They have a ton of styles, they're relatively inexpensive, and they seem to hold up pretty well. They also have some brand name swimwear (other than their own VS line) online, and that's always nice to look at, though it runs more expensive than their own stuff.
  • I had really good luck w/ Lands End this year- I found some super cute suits that were really flattering plus they have AWESOME customer service! All of their suits are 100% lifetime guaranteed which I did not realize until this year (I always thought they were kind of pricey suits but now knowing their lifetime guarantee its a great deal). The sales associate told me I can bring it back at any time if it fades, stretches (or shrinks), gets pilled up on the bottom from sitting on asphalt (which happens often with kids), etc. They will replace it or give me a 100% refund regardless of when I bought it. All of their suits are nice and lined too which is a bonus. Also the tankini top I wanted was sold out in-store in the size I needed so they ordered it for me and its being shipped to my house for free. Cant beat that!
