Water VS. Silicone Lube

Hey girls questions about lube:  I have read that it is better to use water based than silicone.  We have only ever used Water based so we decided to try a different kind (silicone based)  It was amazing the difference.

Not only did I think it felt better but there was no mess from it.

My question:  why is the water based supposed to be better?  Is it bad to keep using the silicone base?

Also if you have any recommendations for any specific kinds I would appreciate any suggestions

Re: Water VS. Silicone Lube

  • Silicone lube doesn't work with silicone toys; it breaks them down. That's all I've ever seen on the subject of why to choose water-based.
  • Organic Virgin Coconut oil is a great lube..and it taste great.

I've only ever used water based and to be honest 99.9% of the time don't use any lube because it's not needed.
  • I have heard of using coconut oil.  I have some food grade that I make soap with but it is solid at room temperature. Is that the same or are there different variations of coconut oil?
  • are u TTC? (we are so I use preseed)

  • We have used both, and I like both,  "wet Platinum" is my favorite, but for my toys I use "Just like me."

  • Silicone lube can't be used with silicone toys. There are water based lubes that are similar to silicone lube System Jo makes one that I've used and really liked. You shouldn't use flavored lubes because a lot of them contain some amount of sugar and can cause yeast infections.

  • Most silicone based lubes are NOT condom-compatible because it breaks them down. That is the main difference, so if you are using condoms make sure to read the fine print on BOTH the condom box AND the lube to make sure they are compatible.

  • As someone said already, silicone doesn't work with silicone toys - it's destroys them.

As as Pure Romance Consultant, I would suggest you going to our website && trying the "Just Like Me" - it's a natural everyday lube. It feels like your natural liquid yet it soaks into your skin helping your body to reproduce. Better yet, it also stays.

Example: If you have fun that morning && apply the Just Like Me && then later that afternoon want to go for round two, when your body starts to reproduce, that Just Like Me Lube will come back. I promise, this works. They also have other fun lube && lube to go with different places & spaces but Just Like Me is pretty much amazing && is a highest selling product.

&& please know that everyone should use lube even if they produce a lot of natural liquid. We can wash our hair with soap to get it clean but we chose certain shampoos & conditioners to better our hair, to keep it healthy & shiny. Just because you don't really need it, it's still great for your body to have && makes the fun a heck of a lot better!  UNLESS, you are TTC - then you may need to try something else.
