So my class is throwing a bridal shower

for our instructional aide, and I would love some ideas.  Did any teachers have one from their students, or do you have any ideas of what we could do?  I was thinking:

either a doughnut or bagel wedding cake w/ ribbons and flowers

and since she's going to Maui for her honeymoon:

pineapple/strawberry skewers

luau decorations

and for a game:  put the kids into groups to make toilet paper wedding dresses (I also have a bunch of foam sticky flowers and hearts

Give each child a piece of paper that's formatted for them to write wedding advice and draw a picture of what they think she will look like on her wedding day

Any other ideas?

Re: So my class is throwing a bridal shower

  • My class have me a shower, but it definitely didn't involve games and activities like yours lol. They had a cupcake cake ( one where it looks like a cake but it's really cupcakes that pull apart) and some of the parents brought in other snacks and whatnot. They all chopped in and got me a gc to Bed bath and beyond and a lot of te kids also brought in wishing well type gifts. Your ideas sound great though- should be a fun shower!

  • I love the idea of having the kids write wedding advice. There should definitely be some funny things there!

  • You're so creative!  I think your ideas sound great!

My assistant a few years ago got married.  I had the kids all work together on a stepping stone for their garden (she and her husband liked to garden).  It was a kit from Michael's where I stamped in "The ________s" or "Meredith & Tyler _________" (or something like that; I can't remember) and the kids got to stick in the colorful mosaic pieces.  It came out cute and was a nice way to remember the class.

  • This all sounds adorable. I wish I could be a fly on the wall!
