What is everyone up to?!
I feel like this board has really slowed down lately. I have been really busy and I know probably everyone has with summer coming and Memorial Day. So what's everyone up to? Anything have anything new/exciting to share?
Just baby stuff here-DS turns 6 months on June 8th (hard to believe!). He is getting more and more interactive every day. Lately he's gotten to do all kinds of firsts-first trip to the library, first time swimming, first time going to the park, first time to the beach. And we're introducing solids which is a riot-so far we've done sweet potatoes, bananas and apples and he loved them all.
Other than that just busy with wedding showers, bachelorette parties, grad parties, etc. typical summer stuff. And looking forward to our family beach vacation in August. Also DH and I ran a 10k race two weeks ago together. It was a great experience to do together and I was very excited to be able to finish at 5.5 months post-partum. Although our time wasn't fast it was great to just finish.

Hey! I am busy wrapping up the school year. Between this and my SILs wedding this weekend we have been so busy. Between holidays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and life in general, something has been going on every weekend!
Nothing too exciting is going on. We are still trying to get pregnant. We are looking into vacation plans but waiting to finalize. We are considering Tennessee, Williamsburg, VA (for Busch Gardens), Ohio (for Cedar Point), or possibly Disney World. I think we are hoping to just pick up and go when we are ready.
I am just looking forward to slowing down!
I am on summer break!! Yeah!! I worked long hours last week getting my room packed up and re-organizing it and throwing stuff away I don't need. I also helped my mom in her room over the weekend as she retired and had to clean out her classroom. The end of the school year was crazy busy and of course I was dealing with my health issue. I also did a surprise retirement scrapbook for my mom so I spent a lot of time on that. She loved it.
I already got one book finished and read a second book. I even went through some kitchen cabinets and drawers today!! DH and I are hoping to travel somewhere this summer. I suggested Disney World but he would rather go to a beach. We need to get planning. DH's sister also wants us to visit her...she lives in Toronto. I don't know if we could swing both although I would love to. Flights are so expensive!!!!! I need to keep busy this summer!!!
I was just wishing for an update from everyone! I can't wait to hear what y'all have been up to.
I'm finishing (tomorrow) teaching a short summer class - one semester of class in 3 weeks. I can't wait to have my life back! Then, I get a short break before doing another summer program.
I'm really looking forward to a little time to catch up on some reading, crafting, pool-laying, etc. Summer is usually a little slower paced for me, but I'm also needing to finish up my research for my PhD this summer, so I will need to buckle down soon!
I really wish we had a vacation in our near future, but it doesn't look likely. We have too much going on that we have to be in town for, and DH doesn't have all that much vacation. I'll have to live vicariously through you guys
I am lazy and busy, so forgive my C&P:
Things are insane here - we just got back from FL going again this summer with my IL's (freaking yay....), I'm writing my proposal for my master's thesis, working (busy season - freshmen orientations start end of june), and of course being a mom and getting ready for fall marching band...in the fall we have band, DD's 1st birthday (ALREADY?!?!?) and my thesis & defense and my graduation (God willing).....but I read here often and keep up with the girls on fb (friend me if you haven't yet!) because I'm on there the most.
I graduated with my Masters (Yay!) and we are all moved into our new home (another Yay!). Now I am trying to close out the school year on a good note. Expectations are much different this year with our new principal and guidelines were given fairly last minute, which is pretty frustrating. I really have a great class this year and I'm sad to see them move on to fourth grade.
Other than that we have plans to go to CA (me for 3 weeks, DH for 1) and at the end of July we're going to Northern Michigan to visit BIL and SIL. We'll also be spending three nights at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. I'm so excited! There are no cars on the island, so everyone gets around by horse drawn carriage, horses, and bikes. Guests also have to dress up after 6:30 P.M. It will be a very unique experience.
Is that in Michigan? That sounds like so much fun!!!
My 8th graders that I spent many months subbing with graduated last night. I have what I think is the flu, which I guess if I'm going to be sick I'd rather miss fewer work days (today's the last full day of school in the district).
So other than bumming around until I feel better, we have no big plans this summer. Hoping to plan a nice vacation to an all inclusive resort next year. I'll be applying for teaching jobs all summer.
We were thinking of going to Mackinac this week... but instead went to the middle of nowhere in the north woods of Wisconsin!
It's been fun! We have no other plans this summer other than to visit my family in July. I am teaching a course this summer & the summer is DH's busy time... so it will be business as usual. We, too, are TTC & hopefully will have good news soon!
I am finishing up the school year in two weeks, and I will miss my amazing classes I had this year
. The first week of July I will be taking a intensive course again for AP Statistics now that I have taught it for a year, and our district is paying for it.
Our little one is due the first week of August so we are going to be busy preparing for his arrival once school ends because we have not done anything yet!, and my shower is in a few weeks. Then once he arrives we are going to be busy being new parents. I am so excited to meet him, and can not believe he is almost here- I feel like it has not been almost 7 months since I found out I was expecting!!
