Tricare Nurse Advice line

Has anyone ever heard of this?  I know it used to exist but does it anymore?  I googled and couldn't find a number.  Basically, I went to the Dr. yesterday and he prescribed me something and scheduled a follow up for two weeks from now.  I started the medication right away, yesterday morning.  Today, the pain and the problem are worse.  I don't want to go in if I don't have to, but I would like to ask a doctor or nurse what they think.

Re: Tricare Nurse Advice line

  • I think it depends on your MTF. I know our last one had a nurse advice line.

  • Even if there's not a line, just call and explain your issues and ask for a nurse consult.  I had an adverse reaction to a med, not even prescribed by my MTF, and they were able to take care of it over the phone.

  • I ended up having to make an appt for the next morning.  I left two messages at my family care clinic and someone finally called back and said, go to the emergency room.  So, I just waited until the next day.  Sometime I love Tricare sometimes it makes me want to cry.
