I was painting one of our bedrooms upstairs and I had just enough poured paint left over to touch up two spots in our living room. We painted the living room about a month ago with the same paint brand, color and finish I was using upstairs. There were two spots on one wall that were scuffed so last night I rolled a little of the paint on the spots. However, today I can see the areas I painted. They are just a tiny bit lighter than the rest of the wall. I want to cry, because it is all I can see when I am in the living room, and the living room took me forever to paint! I didn't think it would be an issue to touch up the paint. Any suggestions, or am I going to have to repaint the entire wall I touched up? Should you not touch up your walls? The tiny scuff marks were nothing compaired to these lighter patches.

Re: Touched up paint, but...
if the paint you used is fairly thick (like a paint and primer type), then you may need to paint the whole wall again. the only other thought i had was if you had rollered it, you probably should have taken a brush at the edge of the wet paint parts and feathered it to make it blend more....but even that doesn't always work, either.
i recommend waiting a few days for more thorough drying and see how it looks then.
