Festival Recap

So how was your trip to Festival?  Any first-timers?

We went today from 11 - 2 pm. It was just the right amount of time, nobody got grumpy until the end. We did nothing other than children's activities. Other than glue-in, we hit them all up. The girls got a cotton candy and shaved ice.  So probably for the majority of you, my trip to Festival was boring. Smile No art, no music, no ethnic food. However, it was a great afternoon for us.

Re: Festival Recap

  • It was our first time going - Thanks GRSP for posting about it Friday!

We had a good time. Nice to see downtown and for something different to do. We were there from about 11-1. It started to get pretty crowded by the time we left and Hannah was getting tired. We had some different foods - all pretty good. We had a shaved ice before leaving and listened to some music while eating it. I did buy cotton candy for myself too! We looked at a little of the art and watched a little bit of the dancing but not much as Hannah didn't want to sit still for long. She found a piece of chalk and was happily drawing lines on the sidewalk!

We will definitely be going back next year! Hannah will be old enough to participate in more next year. She saw the tire swing and was saying "Weeee" but I'm sure she would have freaked out if she was on it. Smile

(I was going to upload a picture of her drawing but can't figure out how!)

  • We went, had a nice time.  We stayed for about 2 hours.  Mostly just walked around to check out what was available.  Had some food, listened to a few bands, watched a little bit of dancing.  There seemed to be a lot more people with petitions and yelling religious people with offensive signs.  I'm glad we went.  But, we didn't really do or see or eat anything super exciting.

Anniversary DS was born 11/30/12... so in love :)
  • I didn't go. I had other things planned and slept a lot this weekend due to the anethesia from my colonoscopy.

There have been so many petitioners downtown lately!  I'm asked weekly to sign a petition.  I'm not a fan.

I ducked out to Festival quickly on my lunch hour on Friday.  I bought a quick snack, dodged rain drops, said no to a petitioner who approached me, and headed back to work.
