Received an invite in the mail...

From my mother for my nephew's second birthday.  SD was included on the invite. I about cried. Mostly because my mother is a tad...crazy and the fact that she included SD (who she normally likes to pretend like does not exist) just made my heart melt.  My mother also got her this extravagant Easter Basket which SD adored.

Let's also consider DH's fabulous sister is getting married soon and didn't bother to invite SD...yet invited other children.  You read that right. SD was not invited to the wedding.  When DH confronted them about it, their excuse was it was an oversight.  Uh huh.

So...my mom, who is not at all related to SD invited her to a family event.....but my husband's family, who has similar DNA as SD, neglected to invite her....

Really, it is any wonder DH and I turned out relatively decent with these crazy @ss parents we have.  Although there is still time for us to end up in prison, I guess.

  • I feel your frustration. Kevin's family have treated Connor like he was a part of their family from day one. I can't even say how much that means to me (but maybe the fact that I started to cry just typing that does)
  • That is really sweet that your family is starting to include your SD in on family events. I would bring her to the wedding anyway. How anyone could be such a jerk about their own family (especially a child) is beyond me.

Oh, we just aren't attending at all.  My husband is MAD.  And he doesn't get mad.

  • Yikes. That's super sweet of your mom to include SD, but the fact that your SIL didn't include her on the invite is ridiculous.
