B&M Monday

Why do the weekends always go so fast?  Lets hear em.

Re: B&M Monday

  • As per my nursing strike post Mackenzie has been only nursing every 5 to 6 hours during the day and even then doesn't eat nearly as much as she used to.  But proceeds to make up for it by nursing every three hours at night.  I'm a tired momma.

We were just at DH's parents this weekend and to get there we have to drive through Edmonton which is about an hour and half drive from where we live.  We have to go back to Edmonton tomorrow for Mackenzie's hip appointment.  I tried to convince B that he should take today off work so we could just hit the appointment on our way home from his parents, but he has too much he needs to get done so we have been spending a lot of time in the car.

My parents went back home on Friday and I miss having them around already.

  • I have a student who is going through a rough time at home right now (parents are living together while going through a divorce).  She is typically a good student, but her work a school this semester has not been good as a result.  I gave the students a final optional project to do to help boost their grades.  I mostly designed it to help her.  Well, it was due this morning and she didn't turn it in.  I am so disapointed.  I have tried everything I can think of the help this kid, and nothing is working.  :(

  • I don't want to be at work today, at all. And it's only 11AM :(.

My ankle is hurting me today. It felt a little sore when I was working out this morning, but I don't know what I did to it.

  • We went for a growth ultrasound this morning, and baby is doing great, but I wanted to see his/her little face in 3D, and the little bugger is snuggled head down already, really low, and cuddling up to the cervix and put his/her hand in front. So we couldn't see the face real well and the tech wouldn't switch it over to 3D. This was probably my last ultrasound, so I'm a little bummed. Oh well, guess we'll see who baby looks like in about 8-12 weeks.

That's so frustrating.  It seems like it's always the ones that you try to help the most who don't end up taking it.  I have seen divorce cause a lot of issues in students who otherwise were usually really good.  It's sad.

  • Mine is that I did not want to get out of bed this morning and come to work, and it's cold and rainy making that even worse. I really considered just calling out and taking the day, but I felt guilty and didn't want to miss any of my kids that I see. Well I got here and found out the reading specialist that I work closely with took a personal day today (meaning her kids aren't being seen). I should have just done the same! BLAH.

Thinking about job stuff for next year is stressing me out, just trying to keep positive!

It's supposed to be rainy and COLD all week. As soon as we hit June it's like we went back to early April weather. Not cool.

  • I just got back from my work trip last night at 10pm (I was gone Tues-Sun) and when I got to work this morning, I had 115 new emails and 3 appointments on my calendar that I wasn't expecting.  All I want to do is go home and take a nap but I can't.

I don't really feel pregnant and that makes me nervous.  I know that it's fine since I'm in my 2nd tri, but I wish my ultrasound was this month instead of next month so I could see that everything is okay and stop worrying.

I want more romance in my life without having to plan it myself.  I would blame the 50 Shades series for this realization, but this has been an ongoing issue of mine.

  • I've been feeling really sad lately.  I don't really know why and it's kind of  annoying. It might be the rainy weather that won't stop.. Or the stress at work.. Or trying to do it all and be super Mom.. Or the fact that my Dad has been having some health issues. I hate that I've been feeling this way.

Cue the song "Rainy days and Mondays always get me down..."

  • My baby woke up screaming this morning. It's totally not like him, he's probably only really like cried like this 3 other times and it worried me. He cried for about 45 minutes and I couldn't even console him. Finally he calmed down and I realized he was in pain from the new diapers. He has never had a reaction to Pampers brand before but he's been in babies r us for about a month or a month in a half now and we were making the switch back. He had a chemical burn from the diapers and I feel so bad for him because I was treating it like a rash and putting medicine on it. No wonder the baby was crying so bad!  I felt horrible!!  Luckily he had about 7 of his other diapers and I've been using those until he woke up so we can run to Austin and trade the pampers for the babies r us brand. The redness has gone down just by using 2 of the other diapers. Stupid pampers.

Poor guy!! I don't like Pampers. Kyle never had a burn from them buy they always seemed to have a strong chemical smell to them. That can't be good for little baby bottoms!!!

  • Life is pretty perfect right now...even with the lack of sleep :-)  I can't complain.

Except for being over my MIL...she does not have boundaries...zomg. I hope moving and only being an hour away from her is going to be enough of a buffer... My parents & Ian's parents said at our house together while we were in the hospital last week and my mother's comment when she left was 'God bless you..I hope you are far enough away from her.. She's intense"  ha..yep..that's one word for her.

  • I could not fall asleep last night to save my life. It was about 1am before I drifted off and I woke up about every hour until my alarm went off at 5. Because of that I have been groggy all day. My class this morning was pretty much torture trying to stay awake.

Although it seems to be better now after my run. Hopefully it is just a weird transition and not the start of an insomnia phase.

  • Andrews left eye is *** and swollen and I can't do anything to help him. He's been on and off of antibiotic drops since he was born. The doctor thinks his tear ducts are seriously obstructed and he will need minor surgery to correct it. Meanwhile, he's uncomfortable and I'm stressed. We have an appointment with the pediatric opthamologist next week and should know more but in the mean time, the eye drops have pretty much stopped working. To top it off, I now have pink eye and need to be 10x as careful handling Andy's eyes and eye drops. Also, it's Monday and I wish it was Saturday again.

For the record, that word was meant to mean puss-filled but I guess looks more like an inappropriate word. Oops!

  • I got my period this morning and I'm so bloated I can barely button my jeans.

    Minor, but so annoying.

  • Where do I start?

DH got a chest cold 2 days before we left the Dominican. It has only gotten worse. He has been up coughing for two nights now and the poor guy just switched his shift to mornings. He has to be up at 4:40am and did a double yesterday so he got home at 11:45pm...I don't think either of us slept 10 mins before he had to get up for work. I'm tired.

My belly button piercing got infected on our trip. I took it out when I got home to clean it and let it heal. I've only had it out 3 days and the f'ing thing closed up where the infection was...I can only get it in from the top and then it stops. I'm debating on just pushing it through...then again I wonder if I should just leave the damn thing out. It'll have to come out in a while anyway. I've had it for 9 years and I know this sounds dumb but I feel naked without it.

While on vacation my work partner did NOTHING to prepare for our grand opening this weekend. We FINALLY moved out of that stupid POS trailer, so I'm happy to have an office again, but now I'm SWAMPED and he's off today and tomorrow...so it's all on me again. AND he left a TON of trash in the trailer and food in the fridge...there is no power. I opened the door today and started gagging. He didn't get a very nice text from me.

  • I'd like to add that I'm sick too. Luckily not coughing but sore thoat, add to that the allergies and asthma that came back with a vengence when we got back home.
  • Addition to my B&M:

The college sent me to a conference last week and they made all the travel arrangements for me.  They booked where I was staying, what my flights were, etc.  When I got to the hotel/resort, the front desk asked for my card.  I asked if my card would be charged and they said no, it was just for incidentals.  Turns out they never kept the original card on file and my personal card WAS charged.  I'm so thankful I used my credit card instead of debit card b/c it came to over $1000.  Thank God I'll get reimbursed for it and that the card I put it on has a 0% interest rate right now, but I'm still annoyed at how that all went down.  The coworker who made the travel arrangements told me he was going to try and get it switched to his card, but he just called and told me it'll be too much of a hassel so I have to do a bunch of paperwork and show receipts and all that, then I can be reimbursed.  PITA.

  • And another one:

The faucet in our kitchen has decided to not work. The cold water comes out fine, but if you need hot water, it comes out as a drizzle. I called the property manager and asked what to do. She wanted me to call the home warranty company, which I did and waited on hold for 25 mins for them to tell me that faucets aren't covered. So back to the property manager who called a plumber who will come look at it tomorrow. I'm just annoyed that now I have to wait around for a plumber tomorrow. I have a million things to do, my glucose test and a dr. appt in the early morning, then I have to do laundry and pack for our trip to FL on Wednesday, and I want to go visit Laura and the Little Lion. Waiting around is not something I want to do, especially when they claim the kitchen was brand new when we moved in, and shouldn't have issues this soon in the first place.

I'm also craving sugar and I'm trying to cut back today in preparation for said glucose test tomorrow, which I'm worried I am going to fail. Brownies and ice cream keep calling my name. It's going to be a long 17 hours...

Im sorry your faucet isn't cooperating. Can you ask the home warranty company for a copy of what is covered. That way you don't have to call them unless necessary? I want to visit the little lion!! I'm jealous. :)

  • I had to throw away 2+ lbs of bad chicken. Why? I forgot to freeze it. There's $10 in the trash.

  • I've been uncomfortable all day. My tear has been fine for the first time all week, but this little bugger decided to stick his foot up in my ribs this morning and he's been putting pressure in the worst places all day long. I'm hating the 3rd tri already and I've only been in it for a week. I'm trying not to focus on it because I know I have a very long ways to go. God give me patience to get through the next 11-14 weeks.
