So I finished all 3 books in the trilogy of 50 Shades of Grey and....I can't stop thinking about Christian Grey!! LOVED the books and couldn't put them down...thank goodness for my Kindle so I didn't have to feel self conscious about reading this in public. It's so explicit that it should probably be banned lol. So I pictured Edward Cullen in my head the entire time since E.L. James based her characters off of Twilight. I know that R Patz won't be playing Christian but I just want to know other readers envisioned while reading? My husband is not a reader but said that he appreciates me reading these books because it def. gave me some ideas to try at home
Re: 50 Shades of Grey
I totally agree! I was excited to read it, but the writing is awful! And I HATE reading in the present tense. Couldn't even finish the first one.

Yes, please.
Read some real books.
my read shelf:
They are brain candy. Great for when I needed a break from heavier reads and just to fill my head with mindless crap.
yes, the writing is bad, there's no plot whatsoever, and the characters annoyed the living hell out of me, but it was good brain candy. Like pixy sticks for my mind. LOL
I've read the first book and half of the second. I just don't think I can read anymore, luckily I got them at a decent price for all three on my kindle. It isn't the writing that puts me off or anything, I just can't read it anymore.
But to answer the question, I did not picture anyone in the roles. I just based the characters on their description. I can never really place other chracters in roles other than their own.
If I had known it was as explicit as it was, I probably wouldn't have bought it. I am usually not into stories like that....I might as well have been reading porn. Oh well....my opinion.
True the writing is weak.
True it is said to be fanfiction
True its an easy read.
SO, they're still real books.
And who's to say that these aren't a series of books women are reading while taking a break from reading a more serious genre? I read them while I was laid up post surgery because I wasn't feeling well and a memoir just wasn't cutting it.
Women reading the 50 Shades trilogy are still capable of reading real books and like one of the other pps said, its brain candy... like trash tv, just in a book.
