Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

We CLOSED!

This has been such a roller coaster, but we finally closed. Here are some details for those interested:
From date of offer acceptance to closing= 2 months, 1 day. (We were supposed to close on May 4th, but because of a lie from the mortgage banker, we were delayed 30 days).
What about the junk the seller's left? (Previous post)
There was not much we could do. They weren't willing to pay anything, and they lived in Florida (we closed in TN), so they weren't willing to come get it either. We'll just have to throw the crap away.
What about the curtain rods they took? (PP)
Well, they had the realtor buy us these expensive rod brackets from Lowes... she brought them to closing. They're ugly, but expensive, so we are going to try and return them for something more suited to our taste.
How was closing?:
Closing went smoother than I ever expected. It was just me, H, our realtor, the Title company person, and the seller's realtor stopped by at the end. They explained each paper to us, we signed, done. It took 32 minutes from start to finish.
So now we're homeowners, and I'm so excited! I cannot wait to get over there tomorrow and paint my daughter's room while I wait for the comcast dude!
