Well, we basically got the worst news possible. Kenzie's hip hasn't gotten any better. We come back up to the city in about 3 weeks (they will call us with a date) to have a closed reduction. This consists of her being put under and then injecting dye into her hip and doing an X-ray and the doctor manipulating her hip to try to get it properly in the socket. If he is successful she will then need to be in the full body spica cast for at least 12 weeks. If it doesn't work we rebook for when she is closer to 1 year old and they do the open surgery - with the spica cast after. This sucks so much.
I don't know what I'm going to do because I can't see her going to daycare in a spica. The question is going to be will I have to take an unpaid leave or can I somehow get a paid leave. Ahhhhhhhhh.
I couldn't stop the tears when the doctor was explaining things to us. Then I had a big cry after he left and now I just feel numb.
I wish I hadn't put anything on FB because now I'm going to have to explain on there.
ETA: Sorry about all the typos. I was on my phone.
Re: Bad news
I'm so sorry that you guys got bad news. Sending vibes that the first procedure works so it is all over quicker for you guys.
I'm sure it is so much to take in. Take deep breathes. We are here if you need to yell (or use CAPS).
