Introducing Myself! (Kinda Long)

I'm Christy, a 20 year old Georgia girl living in Alabama. I try to be friendly, but like everyone there's a few subjects that get me riled up. I do not enjoy heated debates, cooking, dishes, or laundry. I love baking (mmm cookies!), reading, exercising, and oddly enough cleaning bathrooms. I love spending time with family and friends, and of course talking!

I am a devout Christian, and am working on getting an associates degree in Biblical studies at OCU. After that plan on getting a bachelors degree in Psychology, and going on to live my life as a wife, mother, AND Christian Couple's Counselor. I live across the street from my wonderful little Baptist church, and love my church family just as much as I love my real family.

I've been married to a wonderful Christian man for going on two years (July 29th). He's sweet, mild tempered, spoils me and our Lil' Man rotten! He works a lot, and I'm a stay at home mom, so I do a lot of planning for our weekends we when do get some time together.

8 short, but oh so sweet months ago I gave birth, via c section, to the sweetest baby boy ever. I had a c section because I had complete placenta previa and would have hemorrhaged to death if I would have gone into labor. Even though there was nothing that could have been done, and that was just "the luck of the draw" I really feel like I failed my baby, and look forward to a VBAC with the next one, in about 4.5 years.

I came across this site after my sister found out she was pregnant and went on an advice seeking rampage! I look forward to making some friends and becoming a better wife and mother through the articles provided on this, so far, lovely site.

Re: Introducing Myself! (Kinda Long)

  • Wishing you luck witht his one. You will notice this board, and the rest of them, is deader than the twist. Nobody comes here anymore.
  • Welcome!  :)  I reside in Pennsylvania, and love it there in spring, summer, and fall, and just the other day my husband and I were daydreaming about getting a separate place for the winter in Georgia.  How are the winters in Georgia, from your experience?
  • Hi ChristyH! I'm 26, live in central NY state and am married to a lovely Christian man myself (I do not consider myself a Christian). This site IS really great. I used theknot.com to plan our wedding on 9/10/11 and am just now digging deeper into the Nest's message boards. I'm currently out of work, looking for a positive work place and my husband is a workohaulic mechanic with an auto auction company (and my dad happens to be his boss). :) My recent duties are completely taking care of our house (cooking, cleaning) and making sure bills get sent out on time, etc. Making our shopping lists and gathering coupons. Glad to hear you were able to have a healthy baby and not risk your own health with your pregnancy. Wishing you good luck with your future endeavors!
  • Thank you. Maybe it'll pick back up. If not it looks like the rest of the site has some good articles and stuff I can use for now.
  • The winters in GA range from mild to freezing! But I've lived in the south my whole life so the winters may not be as bad as I think they are.
  • thank you. do you find the nest to be as helpful as the knot?
