Mornin' ladies!
I'm about to devour my delish bowl of oatmeal that I have waiting for me...... but I really just want to go to the lunch room and get a ham, egg and cheese croissant. I am proud of my workout last night though so I'm trying to not undo that.
Re: Happy Thursday!
morning! I had an egg, spinach, and mushroom scramble this morning, but I really want a donut ;-) We did an hour bike ride last night. I feel so much better now that I've been riding more regularly.
Also trying to save my calories since I get to go to a party at Crooked Goose tonight. I can't wait.
Good morning! Having some coffee and going to get a bowl of cereal. your breakfasts sound so much better. B and I went to the Real Food Cafe last weekend for breakfast. Oh my word- yum!
Waiting for the library to open, so I can go set up there. Going to be a long day study-wise. I'm trying to compensate for me not being able to do much over the weekend. We had a death in the family, so I will be dealing with that. And- I just need a break from the law! LOL
Quick vent: Love my brother. Do anything for him. But don't ask me to rewrite your resume. I'll help- I won't do it for you. Thanks. Whew.
What?! They're not even open yet! You're obviously someone special. :-) I'll look forward to reading your review.
I played softball last night for the first time in a very, very long time. I had no idea it would be so hard on my body -- so sore today. I feel old.
Since we're talking about breakfast, I made a giant smoothie full of good, healthy stuff that I'm hoping will help heal my body.
All your talk about breakfast is making me hungry! And I'm not a breakfast eater.
Yesterday morning I locked Hannah and myself out of both the car (which was parked in the driveway) and the house at the same time! Ugh! DH was in meetings all morning and couldn't come resuce me. But a vendor he was meeting with when I called him lives out by us and came to my rescue after their meeting. He "broke in" to the garage via one of the side doors. Thankfully the door noticable from the road he couldn't get into and the back one took him about 5 minutes. So at least I feel like our house is somewhat safe from break-ins. This has happened twice now to both DH and I. The neighbors are getting a key today! And a garage keypad is being installed this weekend!
On a happier note, Hannah and I are going to the zoo this morning! If anyone wants to join us we will be there about 10:30 I figure.
Congrats to all you ladies on your health and fitness! :-)
BnG - I'm sorry about the loss in your family. :-(
HM - Enjoy the zoo - it looks like a lovely day for it!
And even though TW hasn't posted yet - Happy Belated B-Day! I was absent yesterday but just caught up on yesterday's randoms.
Besides news sites (MLive and CNN mostly) I mainly just use my google reader to check out various blogs. And then a check on FB here and there throughout the day.
I am doing ok. I found out last night that a high school classmate of mine took his own life last week. So prayers for his family please.
I am having yogurt and orange juice for breakfast.
Not sure about special, but I was invited because of my blog and I'm also a Rapidian reporter on the food beat. They're hoping for some pre-opening publicity.
I need to write up a review of Public in Zeeland - DH and I went there last weekend and I really, really liked it.
On a totally not food related note, it looks like I'll be going to Honduras in a couple of weeks for work! I can't wait. I've only been there once before, and that was for a 3 day training so I never got outside the retreat center. This would be for a 10 day program evaluation.
Thanks!
Well that's a bummer. :-( We haven't been to Cottage Bar in years, but I don't remember the service being poor. I also don't recall having poor service at Bonefish or Blue Water - so it seems like you have been pretty unlucky. Don't let it steer you away from new places though - there are plenty of ones w/ good service out there.
Good morning!
Wendy, Honduras sounds like an awesome trip!
TW, sorry about the poor service on your birthday.
B&G, do you study at the same library all the time, or are you mixing it up? I'm sorry about the loss in your family.
My garden is officially over capacity. And I'm a gardening crammer. We need to move to a farm.
Juli, I was thinking about you guys trying a few herbs this year. Knowing that Andy's a home brewer, and that you have a lot of space there, I propose you grow hops. No joke. They seem to grow easily, and are a really pretty and quick growing vine.
Super sweet... and slightly stalker-y.
Wendy, Honduras! How awesome.
that is so cute!
Kasa, I said the same thing. "Dude, Jim... the dentist is stalking our daughter on your FB feed."
Hannah's mom, I hope you're having a great time at the zoo! Henry and I went yesterday and it was lovely weather, and the crowds weren't too bad. I was surprised that there were a few school field trips there so late in the year.
We walked on the new boardwalk. It's a pretty walk, and the play areas there are fun. It's not a playground, but more of a woodsy camping themed area.
Your cousin isn't Alexia, is it? My friend just lead a trip for HfH to Honduras.
Hops are actually the only thing we've ever grown! :-) Andy's parents have a good system at their place, and 2 or 3 years ago they gave Andy some plants. They grew well the first year, but Andy was too lazy to harvest. My ultimate goal for our deck is to have a trellis wall underneath with hops growing up and for Andy to actually harvest and dry them.
As for our deck herbs, we have the planters in place and filled with dirt and now just need the herbs. We'll finish the job this weekend and hope for the best! :-)
How weird. My cousin's name is Alex. He lives in NC though.
Juli, I just knew you two were destined for hops.
Jim's friend has a whole farm in TC. When I typed farm, I accidently typed "fart" first. I'm sharing because I know you'll appreciate that.
Deeder, that's funny. I've sent her a message to see if they were on the same trip. Habitat trips are a great way to experience a different place. I hope he enjoyed his experience.
Is that the organic hop farm,Mission Organic or something? DH went on a tour there once.
That WOULD be funny if it was the same Honduras trip. There are tons of Grand Rapids-Honduras connections. The main reason I'm going is to help evaluate the impact (good and bad) of our long term work team partnerships on the community and on the churches that send them. I've been spoiled, though - all my Africa trips were to countries where most people speak English. Not looking forward to 10 days of speaking through translators! I lost my Spanish after not using it after college.
Thank you for the condolences. It was expected. She had a stroke in October, and when she came out of it, she had dementia. So it's sort of a relief. I think everyone has made their peace. It's one of my mom's first cousins. They grew up together.
GRSP: Same library. I go to Cooley on Fridays for a class but I refuse to pay $5 a day for parking when I'm not bringing any money in. I should find other libraries.
I did, in fact, smile at the fart mistype. :-)
