Oddly mad...

So, I changed my name about a month ago. When I cam back from doing so, I immediately told our office manager (p.s. she was AT the wedding!) and asked if she needed a copy. Then, as of 6/1 I dropped our office insurance and joined H's policy. Well, again today, we get paid every Friday, I got my paycheck, still has my maiden name only (I did 2 last names) and the fee for our health insurance! WTF. It seems stupid, but I hate the idea of paying for two insurance policies, obviously, and I would really like my check to be my correct name! How do I even go about this? TIA

Re: Oddly mad...

  • I would probably just bring it to her attention.  It might have taken a cycle or to for your insurance to drop off.  I added H on the 21st and he didn't actually get to be on it till the next pay cycle which started the 27th and I did not pay for him to be on it till this pay check.  So I would just see if she made the changes all ready and if you were already in the middle of a billing cycle so it was too late.

  • I agree, I'd just bring it back and remind her and ask what she can do about the insurance.

  • You should get reimbursed for the health insurance fee. If you have all the supporting paperwork showing that you filed to drop the insurance on time, your office manager needs to fix it and get you your money back.
  • I would just mention it again.

DH got a birthday card from his grandmother 3 weeks after our wedding in his old name (he hyphenated his name as well) and I was slightly upset she didn't recognize his new name.
