Pittsburgh with toddlers

Will have 1 day in Pittsburgh with 3 small kids (ages 5, 2, and 1).  Any places you'd recommend to visit with the little ones?  Thanks!

Re: Pittsburgh with toddlers

  • Depending on the weather the zoo is a good option...if the weather isn't as good the Aviary is a good choice.  The science center is also an option (although that might appeal more to the 5 year old than the others).

  • The Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium is awesome! Its much better than the Smithsonian National Zoo IMO. I hope you get a nice day to go.

  • Definitely check out the Children's Museum in addition to the other suggestions.

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old.  Things they enjoy:

    Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium

    Children's Museum

    Carnegie Science Center

Carnegie Museum of Natural History to see the dinosaurs (better than the Smithsonian according to our relatively well travelled resident dino expert)

Riding one of the inclines coupled with a Just Ducky tour would be a fun way to spend the day.
