BB cream

I've been hearing a lot about these BB creams lately and I was wondering if anyone has tried them? What brand? What do you think? I'm looking for something light for the summer, but still with a bit of coverage. The idea of putting on my whole "face" (primer, concealer, foundation, powder, etc) and heading out into the hot Southern sun all summer is making me cringe. I'm hearing great things about BB creams, but I'm not sure I want to invest in them yet. Well, at least not the high end brands like smashbox or stila. I may try Garnier.

So who's tried them and what do you think?

Re: BB cream

  • Thank you! I've been seeing that garnier commercial 15 times a day and have started to become really interested. Clearly I'm a fool for advertising. This helps a bunch! Thanks again!

You're welcome!  You should come join us over on the proboards :)

  • I have tried the Garnier BB cream. Maybe I am applying it wrong, or maybe it isn't for me, but when I use it I just think it makes me face look shiny & greasy.
  • The Garnier BB cream went on really well for me, but after a few hours oxidized and looked super makeup-y on me. I've also tried the Bosica BB cream and wasn't super impressed.

While it's not really a BB cream, I really like Tarte's Smooth Operator Tinted Moisturizer- Covers really nicely and isn't super heavy.

I hear both Maybeline and L'oreal are getting ready to release BB creams in the US... And I think maybe ELF (at Target) has one, too.

I had this same problem. I had really high hopes, but I felt like it just sat on my skin and looked oily.

  • I use the Estee Lauder BB cream and LOVE it. It really does give a nice flawless look without the greasy feel I seem to experience with most tinted moisturizers. I do still set mine with a little bit of powder, but I think that is more out of habit than necesscity.

Ahhh, this is good to know.  My sis was just telling me that they have a GWP right now, and that they now have a BB cream, so I was like "hmmm"...
