My grandmother is about to start chemotherapy for very aggressive breast cancer and I'm rolling around the idea of putting a streak of bright pink in my hair to show my support. I currently dye my hair a red-brown shade (and have for the past 14 years)
Would a certain kind of pink work any better with my reddish hair color? And would I be shooting my job search in the foot if I had pink in my hair? : /
Thanks for any advice!
Re: hot pink hair advice
So sorry about your grandmother. That's such a cute idea and very touching to show support for her with the streak of pink in your hair! I can't answer your color question but in regards to your job search, depending on where the job is, it should be fine, it's such a trend right now.
Good luck and hope your grandmother is A-okay
I had my hair hot pink every summer during high school and my hair is naturally a red-brown. I had to re-dye weekly because the "manic-panic" pink dye kept fading to a rust-orange color! I didn't experiment with other dyes due to a low high-school-job budget, but I would not really recommend the "Manic Panic" brand.
Due to your job search, have you considered clip-in pink extensions? They're less work and can be taken out before interviews.
That is a really cool idea though, what a creative way to show your support! (:
Not sure what kind of job you're looking for, but it may hurt you. I just got hired at J Crew and they won't allow unnaturally coloured hair (also no big hair accessories, non-neutral nail polish, etc.). I had actually *just* dyed my hair back from bright red to brown before I was hired.
If you're in a creative field I think it could be ok if they're not conservative (ex. gov).
I think your reason for it is sweet, and like PP said maybe bring up your reason for it if you decide to do it before your interviews! GL!
hmmm you'll have to go into possibly a hair salon and request a hairstylist to get it for you and the only one I can think of is 'crazy colour' in which it's like a conditioner and you wash it in - I can't consider of any semi-pernaments for pink...sorry greatest I can do.
