Curious About Your Weddin' Shoes!

Did everyone's shoes go according to plan?

I got a pair of Aerosoles that I intended to wear at least through the formal dances... I only made it until right after the ceremony! Getting my sandals on was priority #1 before we went into the reception.

Also- My MOH & BM didn't even wear their "fancy" shoes for the ceremony. The both opted to go ahead and wear the Converses we had custom made for the bridal party (we intended the guys to wear theirs for the ceremony, and for the girls to wear theirs at the reception). Totally wasn't planned and ended up being totally adorable :)

How'd everybody else fare?

Re: Curious About Your Weddin' Shoes!

  • I wore my heels as long as I could - we took photos before the ceremony, so my feet were definitely sore during the ceremony and as soon as it was over I pretty much changed over to my sandals.  Guess I'm just getting old =]

I too only wore my heels for the pictures prior and through the ceremony. As soon as we were completely done with formal pictures I put on my purple converse shoes :) They were so cute and everyone loved them!!

    Hopefully this link works!

  • I was a good girl and kept my shoes on all the way from the first look through to after the first dance (which was after dinner, cake, everything). About two songs in to dancing I kicked them off at the corner of the dance floor and the DJ called me out - it was hysterical. He said something like "OHH MISS BRIDE IS ABOUT TO GET HER DANCE ONNNN" I'm sure it made for some cute photos as well :)

  • I wore mine through all the pictures after the ceremony, and took them off when dinner was served... I had every intention of putting them back on for the first dances, but when the time came I just couldn't do it so I wore flip flops.

  • I wore flats the whole day.  My husband is only a few inches taller than me, and I wanted to make sure I was shorter than him the entire day.  I bought two pairs of flats: green ones that weren't super comfy for the ceremony and then very comfy Toms for the reception.  I changed into the Toms immediately after the ceremony.

The funny thing is, I am usually average to tall in my group of friends.  (I'm 5'4" and usually wear heels).  But with the flats on all day (and all my friends dressed up with their heels), I look like a shrimp in all the pics.  It made me laugh.  I look shorter than one of my BM who is 5'1".

  • I wore my purple heels (ok, they were wedges) through the ceremony, pictures and dinner. Once the dancing started I changed into a pair of flip flops.

  • I had 3 pairs of shoes...I wore the formal ones until the end of pictures, totally forgot to get the second pair out of the car, and by the end of pictures my feet hurt sooo bad I wore barefeet for half an hour while someone went to get my fli[p flops out of the car that was parked somewhere else still...then wore those the rest of the night.
  • We did pictures before so my feet were killing me through the ceremony. I put sandals on right before reception and switched back for the important stuff.

  • I had full intentions to wear my heels for pictures and the ceremony then change to my Toms... well, my hair appointment ran long, makeup appointment ran long... so when it was time to finally put on my dress, I was over it already!! I wore my Toms all day!  No one knew it until the "fun" pictures after the ceremony.  We were doing a dip picture, I stuck my leg up in the air, and my MOH screamed TOMS!! It was hilarious and made for very cute pictures!

  • I wore my heels for the ceremony and formal pictures. As soon as those were done, I put on flip flops because we had to walk through dirt and sand to get to the docks and lighthouse. They were so much easier and my feet were killing me in those shoes! When we came back, I put the heels back on so she could take pics of our feet (H had purple argyle socks to match my purple shoes) and for our entrance/first dance/cake cutting. I took them off after dinner and put on my Nike's. But, I forgot to bring socks, so I ended up barefoot half way through the night!
  • I actually wore western boots for my footwear, so I wore them the whole time.... They were pretty comfy... The only time I changed was when we went Jeepin' at our after party... then I put on my old boots :) It worked out pretty good, because I wasn't hurting the next day when we left for the Honeymoon!

  • I had flats for the ceremony and reception and everything went great. I did take them off during dinner while we were sitting and for a lot of the dancing but that was because the bottoms were so smooth and I was sliding all over the dance floor.
  • I wore my heels for the ceremony, and on the trolley to take pics. As soon as we got to the first stop for pictures, my feet were killing me, so I took my shoes off!

My flats were back at the reception, so I was barefoot for all of the pics (which worked out since my H isn't that much taller than me!)

Finally I got my flats on, right before we were introduced, but not must long after that, was I barefoot again!

By the end of the night I was wearing my old Reef flip flops...the only truly comfortable shoe in the world!

  • I made it through instill the dancing starting...I ended up just being barefoot I couldn't find where my girls put my flip flops I brought...needless to say my feet were gross!

  • I had runners.. little white slip on Skechers runners. I wore them all day until sometime during the dance. Then I was roasting, and my feet swelled and they were just too tight! But they were comfortable up until that point!

  • I had my Coach flats on all night :)

  • I wore my royal blue converses from start to finish and loved every minute of it!  My H also wore his black & white ones.  My grandma nearly had a heartattack when she realized I was wearing them for the ceremony, but I couldn't imagine being uncomfortable all day.  Bonus points: we got some really great pictures of me in my converses with my wedding dress.  Now my grandma loves them.

Besides we got married on the beach in southern california.  That just screams converse!!!

  • I just wore some ballet flats for the wedding. The problem was they were too big because they were my something borrowed so they kept slipping off. So I just took them off and walked around with no shoes. :)

  • I'm usually pretty good in heels so didn't think twice about it until my feet started to hurt. I lasted all day and almost all night. I put on flip flops for the last hour or so of dancing.

  • I wore blue sandal heels, just a small kitten heel, but they hurt like a b!tch. I actually ended up wearing them for most of the night, but then I planned to change into my blue flip flops but I just ended up going barefoot.
