Workin 9-5 what a way to make a Living
Just a little vent. I've been with my job for 3+ years now. I've only gotten 1 raise of $0.75 which is beans. They keep piling on new responsibilities with no raise. The original team i was with has disbanded to just 2 of us now. Sometimes i wish I could just quit but the benefits are amazing & I've worked too hard for too long to give it up. Any1 else almost fed up but stays for the perks?
Re: Workin 9-5 what a way to make a Living
Im starting to reach my breaking point with my job but the perks are keeping me from leaving. My biggest problem is I have been with my company for 4 years, held a senior level position (with no perks and was downgraded again when someone with seniority was brought in) but I am still just a "Jr" employee. They refuse to give me any recognition and keep saying "its not enough", and "maybe next year". Then my bosses keep changing (has three in the past year, and the current one I dont even work directly for so he has no idea on what I do) so no one has seen my work long enough when recognition time comes around that they dont want to offer me anything. I get really good reviews every year but what is that worth when you dont get any recognition past that?
But they paid for my master degree, PTO is good, and insurance is really good.
The part that is really making the breaking point is that there was no increased compensation when I got my masters, so I am making $20-30k less then I should with my degree.
I'm torn between what I want to do! I like my job, the company I work for, and my boss. I LOVE my hours. I go in at 7:15am and leave at 3:15pm. I'm home by 4pm every day. If I need to go in early and leave a little bit early, my boss lets me. The benefits are pretty decent.
However, I would like to get a job that's more of an advancement from what I'm doing now. I feel like I'm more of an assistant than a professional. However, I get paid pretty decent too! But, I know I won't find a company with those hours!
