that awkward moment...

when you realize the friend you've broken up with is apparently CLUELESS about the breakup. even though you never talk. and she's not really invited to things anymore.

and now she wants to have lunch, and you know it's because she's bored...NOT because she actually wants to "catch up".

Re: that awkward moment...

  • is this friend still a facebook friend? if so, it might be time to hit delete. i know there are people likes exes who i am pretty sure hate me but since we are fb friends and i can comment on their stuff, i feel like "oh i think we're still cool." but i'm sure that's totally not the case.

yeah, i've thought about that, but i think it would drum up SO much drama.

she's a girl that used to be my BFF from kindergarten through HS. and we always stayed sort of in-touch, until about 2 years ago when she and her DH started blowing off our whole group. so we stopped inviting them to stuff. and then every 6 months or so out of nowhere she'll be all "ohhhh, we should all get together", but usually she doesn't actually MAKE plans.

she still stays in touch more with one girl from our group, because they're both teachers and she always needs "help". i just can't justify having lunch with someone who isn't really close to me, and didn't say a word to me when my dad was in the hospital after getting hit by a car on his motorcycle last month.
