(I know I've been gone for 3+ years, but I like you better than the LA board)
So, every year DH has to go to comic-con for work. I've tagged along, because hey! free hotel room in San Diego! He works pretty much from 8am-2am every day of the convention.
I'm going to be driving down with Max late Friday night and staying until Sunday evening. I got a pass for Sunday, and on Saturday Max and I will check out San Diego.
I'm starting to FREAK OUT. Please help to assuage my fears. I started to make a list of stuff I'm freaking out about, but basically it's only: no fridge in the room for milk and finding restaurants for the 2 of us to eat and is it bad form for a mom with her son to have a drink?
Re: staying in hotel "alone" with toddler
Can you check with the hotel to see if they provide refrigerators for breastmilk (regardless of the kind of milk we're talking here)? I think there is some kinda rule about that, but not sure.
I would say go ahead and have a drink with your son - who cares what other people think! Obviously you're not planning on getting sloshed. I once watched a woman have 3-4 martinis while she was alone with a toddler...that, I would judge!
Good luck with the trip!
i swear the nest/bump have made me so self conscious about drinking with a baby and taking him to bars/pub./stripclubs etc.
i'd ask about fridges a lot of places that is standard now! otherwise i for many years kept beer cold in hotel sinks by just filling it with free ice.
I have done this several times with Brooks and it's really NBD. Most places have fridges and they usually charge, but if you tell them it's for your baby's milk sometimes they give it for free.
Finding restaurants is easy too, use the conceierge, yelp, open table, etc. See what others say about the place being kid friendly without sacrificing quality. Regarding drinking when he's around, who the F* cares, not me.
And I'll have to bug your for LA advice when I get my itinerary, I'm trying to bring Brooks.
yes! when are you here?
