So...after everything....we lost the house we were trying to buy. Offer accepted, survey, engineer inspection, appraisal...the apprraisal came back at 18K less then the price asked...Seller doesnt want to budge even though they are moving august 1.
So...the bank wouldnt give us the loan...and we would have needed 50 K to close to make up the difference. in addition, we would be paying 20K more then the house is worth.
The sellers agent told them "They just got married, they should have money"...so thats what their lawyer told my lawyer...so im filing a complaint with the real estate board on this agent...because shes been doing this since day 1...she lied about things she said we planned on doing to the house to make the sellers think we had money we just didnt want to use.
Talk about bad business practice. We are fighting for our deposit back now...because they said the bank should approve us and that we are backing out. Last i checked...lawyers and real estate agents were not bank representatives. OYE....back to square 1.
Also..while im here.... i got asked 2 times if i was prego.... i must be gaining some weight... lol
Re: House drama and other things....
Exactly! I thought I was going to read that they were going to be more considerate knowing you were newly weds and broke! Sheesh. That comletely bites. Sorry to hear about it. I have to hope that in the long run it will work out for the best. There is a better home waiting for you out there!
WTH. Has this person never paid for a wedding?! She should be saying the exact opposite lol.
I would definitely file a complaint. That's ridiculous. I'm really sorry to hear this fell through, but I'm sure you'll find a better house for a better price.
The whole "they just got married...they should have money" makes me laugh. I'm pretty sure it is the complete opposite...
Hope you get it all figured out. The sellers should have taken the deal when they had a chance. Selling a house nowadays when you are moving anyway is short of a miracle.
That is terrible! I have been hearing a lot of house buying horror stories lately. Our underwriting/final approval is taking a bit longer than expected due to the type of loan we are doing, so I have been frustrated as well.
Just know that there is a house out there that is meant for you two, and there is a reason that this one didn't work out, even if you don't know that reason.. yet
Sorry to hear. Definitely agree with this - home buying SUCKS! Worse than wedding planning - I had way more issues come up during the home buying process than I ever had with the wedding. All I can say is, don't fall in love with a house or consider it yours until all the papers are signed and the keys are in hand! I've had a lot of friends have similar problems. You guys WILL find a house in the end, and it will be worth it...just keep remembering that! Good luck with everything.
Wow, that is insane, I am so sorry! Ugh people should know never to ask a woman if she is pregnant, even if it is obvious she is 9 months pregnant, unless she has told you she is. I bet because you are now married you are on "bump watch" from your friends and family?
I am so glad no one has asked when we are going to "start trying..."
Ugh. Sorry. I have heard horror stories about the home buying process. You'll find one and it will feel like it was meant to be.
