What are you reading?

What's everyone reading?  I've been sort of slacking in that department because I've been so busy.  Plus I struggled so bad through 50 shades that I felt burnt out.

Game of Thrones is ready for me through the library but I seriously doubt I can withstand an 819 page book.  And I highly doubt that I'll get through it in 3 weeks.

I have a fluffy Nora Roberts book that I bought ages ago and never read, plus a few on my kindle that I haven't read, like Moneyball.  I think I might go for those.  However, I'm always down for some book recs.

Re: What are you reading?

  • Life has still been too busy for me to fully finish Immortal Life of HeLa but I'm still chugging along. I think I'm around 65% of the way through it and now that most of the good TV has wrapped up, I'll have more time to read! I'm heading up to CT this weekend so I reserved Outliers on CD (a book recommended to me by my boss) from the library. I just hope it gets transferred to my branch in time. Anyone know how long that normally takes?

  • Im halfway through Insurgent (and a bit disappointed I think so far because I really loved Divergent). Next up is Beautiful Disaster, She Comes Undone (re-read) and considering Game of Thrones.
  • Right now I am struggling through Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, I have The Secret History waiting for me at the library for pick up and also just got Beautiful Disaster on my kindle

me too. I keep clicking out of it and reading other things and then going back to it.

I'm fully reading "Let Pretend This Never Happened" instead.

  • My book club is reading "The Distant Hours" by Kate Morton and I'm enjoying it. We pick so many books that focus on the World War II era, now that I'm thinking about it. I need something light to read after this, but refuse to buy "50 Shades" because the consensus seems to be that it's terrible. Other suggestions welcome!

  • I'm currently struggling through Kristin Hannah's "On Mystic Lake."  It's not that it's bad, I just don't read as much in the summer since I am working two jobs April-September.

I am not sure what I'm going to read next.

Love this book!  I recommend it constantly.

I just finished the Mindy Kaling book. It was funny but not as good as say Tina Fey. Now I'm reading the Night Circus. I like it although I'm still a little confused. After that it's back to Game of Thrones.

  • Just finished the books Butterfly and Stars.  Loved them both.  I was craving that type of story with romance, suspense and especially revenge.

I just finished it this morning, and didn't see some of the plot twists coming! Really like the way that they tied up all of the loose ends.

  • I need to stop reading depressing books!

I finished We Need to Talk About Kevin and wow.  Just wow.  Great book but whoa.

I am reading In the Garden of Beasts and I have some oldies but goodies (Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre) on the kindle for the summer.  I like to give myself a summer reading list to make sure I don't just veg out the entire time.

I need some lighter but still interesting books.  The doom and gloom is killing me.

I also have some work related and business books on my list but those are horrifically boring for the most part.  I do love Lincoln on Leadership though.
