Car update....:(
my Jeep is not fixable. I'm hysterically crying at work, just called H and my Dad.
The frame is rotted out, and not fixable without spending a TON of $, and even doing that, the guy said it wouldnt be worth it.
I have to talk to the mechanic to see how long I may have, so that I can try and start looking for a new car and save in the mean time....I'm hoping I have a week, or two....

That sucks! If it makes you feel better H traded in his old truck 2 years ago for a used one (all he could afford at the time.) Anyways he still got a good trade in value like $3000.
His truck was an 80's model with no front bumper, transmission was leaking and going out, and it had multiple problems. He never took his truck up there until he went to sign the papers and they still gave him that much for it. We were super shocked.
Maybe you can still get a good trade in value for it!
didn't you say it was a Wrangler? like everyone else said, you could probably part it out. Those are real popular and generally have good resale value.

Thank you everyone, yes it's a Wrangler, and I don't really know much abuot "parting it out" so most likely I'll trade it in for something else and hopefully get a decent amount of $ for it. Even enough for the down payment on a new vehicle is really all I want for it.
I just don't know how I will get used to paying monthly car payments after not having to do it since about 10 years ago...ugh!

My H literally bought a brand new 2012 Wrangler 4 days before we left for our wedding...so we have been pricing Jeeps for the past year. They have ridiculously high resale value on them. That's why he ultimately decided to go brand new beause it just made since to spend a few grand more to get new vs. used. They are hugely popular in our area and from what I can tell....just about everywhere!
The car payment will hurt for a little while, but you will get used to it. GL car shopping....that is one thing I just hate. Care salesmen and women are just not meant to be friends!
