If it's not one thing it's another

We went to the pediatrician last Wednesday to finally get some answers about Mackenzie's potential allergies.  Here you just see your family doctor (GP) unless there are bigger concerns, then you get referred to a paediatrician.  And the referral took forever to get in.  Anyway, they took some blood to do the allergy tests and were testing for a few other things as well.  Turns out M has an iron deficiency.  So now she is on an iron supplement.  We are still waiting to hear about the allergies.

I am going kind of crazy because I'm such an A type personality.  I like to have a plan.  Not knowing what is going to happen next week is driving me crazy.

On a good note, today we are going swimming - trying to get some things in before the potential cast.   I am also taking my 2 1/2 year old niece so hopefully I can manage both of them :)

  • That stinks about her blood work. At least it has been caught and can be rectified. Hopefully she doesn't have any allergies.

  • That really sucks to have so much to worry about at the same time! Did they say how to help an iron deficiency in a baby? Hopefully all of the allergy tests come back negative!

Thanks guys.  Sorry.  I just always feel like I need to vent.  It doesn't really make me feel any better though.

She takes a liquid iron supplement.  But she eats lots of the iron fortified cereals.  I don't know if formula has iron in it, but I BF.  Apparently it's quite common, but they wouldn't normally test for it unless they were already testing for other things.
