We haven't done one of these in a while and in an attempt to liven up the board, I say let's go! Hopefully we hear from some of those who have been quiet for a while and maybe even some newbies/lurkers.
Re: Check-In
Counting down the days until the weekend, and then we are heading down SIC for a week with my husband's family. Speaking of which - anyone have any good seafood dinner reccomendations for SIC?
We plan on laying low for the rest of the summer, and hang out at home or at the pool. I'd love to get down Cape May for a weekend at some point.
We did just book a vacation to Scotland for September to celebrate my 30th birthday. My 2 older sisters live in Scotland, so this will be my first time celebrating a birthday with them in 5+ years. And I haven't been to Scotland since my 18th birthday, so I'm well over due. Can't wait for my husband to finally see it, and meet some of my extended family!!!
Are the dead spots closer to the sidewalk? Could it be that your four-legged neighbors are using your lawn to do their business?
As for us, the mister and I have been working on a neverending list of house projects, while running races on the weekends. We also decided to participate in an ultra-marathon relay on Labor Day weekend. This could be my first 26.2, but I'm hoping to hit 31 miles. We shall see how I like training for it. :-)
Hey ladies! Nothing thrilling to report over here- work is picking up as we get into busy season with leagues, the pool opening next week, and camp starting in 2 weeks, so my hours are increasing quite a bit. DH has been working his insane hours- which will include a ton of travel this summer for swim meets with the team he coaches- and is also participating in his first triathlon (Philly Tri) in a week and a half. I am bummed I won't get to be there to cheer him on in person, but it's the first full day of our pool open and I no way out of working it
Other than that, we are working on trying to get some house projects done, most notably moving Miss Aisling to a 'big girl' room, and I'm trying desperately to organize but I feel like I get through one box of things and ten more pop up. I had Purple Heart coming out last week to pick up some stuff and they never showed...boo. Now junk sits in my garage another month because they can't come til July 9!
I'm 25 weeks along as of tomorrow and starting to feel bigger, though people still tell me I'm small. I think I'm as big as I was around 33 weeks last time, which I know is normal with subsequent pregnancies. But I'm feeling good, so I'll take it!
Yes! There are two small spots near the back of the lawn which are dead, but the largest areas are next to the sidewalk.
Sadly, nothing new in these parts.
Work is busy and not in a fun way anymore. Lots of work with little strategic vision or direction so you have to do the same darn thing 16 times. I should have some fun trips for work coming up though (if the budget office will ever process the darn paperwork).
Home life is decent. DS is getting cuter every day and so much more fun than he has ever been. I love that he is more mobile and learning a crazy amount. He is awesome. DH and I are in a bit of a rut but we are working through it. I just feel completely overwhelmed with home, work and rowing. Now that rowing is calming down I am hoping to get some stuff done and not feel like I am on some crazy merry-go-round that is spinning faster and not stopping.
I am heading to Bulgaria in August and we have some beach trips planned as a family for the summer. Those should be fun but nothing out of the ordinary on the horizon.
Works busy but that's nothing new.
We have a trailer so we rented a campsite near Lancaster so we are trying to camp as much as possible. My son loves it!
My son just turned 3 so we had his bowling birthday party last week. It turned out great.
Thinking about hitting Dutch Wonderland this weekend. We'll see.
I'm excited for DH to be done w/ school (he's a teacher), so he can do errands/grocery shopping/etc. during the day. He'll also take Oliver to daycare (he's going part-time for the summer) so my mornings will get MUCH easier for a couple months.
We are going to England/Scotland in August to see DH's family and go to a wedding. It will be hectic, but fun. The flight should be easier this time, since Oliver just turned 2 and he'll have his own seat.
Summer vacation has begun for me and so far I am loving the freedom to do what I want, especially now that I'm not sleeping well at night. So now, I wake up when my body wants to (which was 5:45 today, boo) but I have the option to nap later if I can fall back to sleep.
We have begun to get things ready for the nursery. I ordered the dresser this week (on backorder until July) and my parents are going to order the crib for us soon. Yesterday I got a really good price for carpet and tonight we are buying paint. So, things are moving in the right direction - which is helpful because my shower was Sunday and we got so much stuff!
Vacation coming up in July, which will be chaotic but fun.
Im jealous of everyone's vacations! Due to baby #2s arrival this fall, Im saving all my time off for maternity leave so my only relaxation this summer will be sitting next to DDs water table in the yard!
Today is V-day for my pregnancy so Im pretty relieved about that. This pregnancy is so much harder for me though--still within the realm of normal. I feel like Ive already hit those last couple months when youre constantly uncomfortable and feel huge and sweaty and cant see your thighs to shave them....but I have 4 months to go ;/
DD oscillates between being a whinny brat and so amazingly adorable and hilarious, on the regular. She sings songs that seem really elaborate to me like tunes from the Muppet movie and "take me out to the ball game",which just blows my mind. She also makes hilarious demands like "just put the chicken nuggets in the oven" and parental corrections "mommy, no talkin with food [in your mouth]". She transitioned to a big girl bed seamlessly and is getting more and more well versed with the potty so perhaps we'll take up potty training later this summer. For now we're working on nixing her bedtime stalling, which has effectively moved her bedtime from 745/8pm to after 9pm--and shes a cranky beast in the morning to prove it. Ive also been busy switching bedrooms around to re-erect a nursery and awaiting the delivery of new office furniture so our house kind of looks like we just moved in, again.
I have my first ever prenatal massage after work today so Im super stoked for that. I really hope they have a massage table with a hole in the middle to stick my belly through, but Im sure Im wrong, I just think that would be hilarious.
We have almost nothing going on and I'm quite ok with that! Vacation plans are pretty much non-existent. We're doing the weekend before the 4th in OCNJ with MIL and her boyfriend at his condo. I'm excited to take V to the beach! I imagine he will want to eat sand. My sister got me a gc to dry bar for my bday so she and I will be doing a day trip in NYC in August with no real agenda so that's fun. The weekend after I have a girls weekend with my friends for our all class hs reunion in NWW. Highly anticipating that! I'm on the search for a new job, because my company has yet to offer me a permanent position and I can only ask/heavily hint at it so many times. We want to buy a house but can't in my current employment situation.
Annoying parental bragging alert: The kid is getting bigger and cuter by the second, I swear. He said dada and crawled for the first time on my birthday almost two weeks ago. At 8 months old, he refuses to feed himself but will literally eat whatever you put in his mouth. He screams instead of laughs, loves shaking his head "no" (with no actual concept of the word no), looks terribly proud of himself when he high fives me and sleepts for approximately 12 hours a night. He is quite literally my favorite person in the world. DH and I are having so so so much fun with him.
SJU - I am a huge fan of Mike's Seafood in SIC. You can eat-in on the dock or takeout. It is very casual, you order at the counter but the food is brought to your table. Never had a bad meal there
cmin - we are going to DW on Sunday! The kids are out of their minds excited
Not much new here - the kids are getting bigger and are just really fun. mr. eagles and I made a NY's resolution to do date night at least once a month and we have been sticking to it. We are going to a VIP party for the July 4th concert on the parkway, I can't wait! Charlie starts pre-k in the fall and I can't believe it
DS 3.12.08
DD 7.11.09
DD 8.01.13
Not too much going on here. DH and I already had our big summer vacation, but I hope to do some day trips/weekends here and there. This weekend, I'm going to NY with my BFF and our moms; we have tickets to see Evita. Next week, DH's friends are coming to visit from Chicago.
Work is pretty quiet right now, but I'm planning a bunch of events for July/early August that will mean late nights and weekend work. Not looking forward to that.
DS will be 1 month old tomorrow, and I can't believe how fast it's gone! He's freaking adorable, and definitely starting to be more alert and awake. Still waiting for that first smile (other than in his sleep or when he farts), but I'm loving the cuddly infant stage. Trying not to think about how fast my maternity leave is going.
My parents have a house in OCNJ for a week in July, so the baby and I will be heading down for the full week, and DH will be down for a few days. I'm super excited.
Otherwise, not much going on other than changing diapers, breastfeeding, and sleeping when I can.
Life should be settling down shortly for the Del's now that school and baseball/softball season is almost done. I think I am more excited for school to be over than T1 is, today is his last day. This is the first summer he will not be in summer camp and Im only working three full days a week so Im looking forward to spending time with the kids this summer. Although Id be lying if I said I wasnt nervous about keeping all three happy, occupied, and brawl-free for the next two months.
I do have to say though, I think I finally found the perfect life balance working part time. It is really working out well and I am so happy and content. I know I will have to go back to full time eventually though since financially, it's not going to work in the long run. But for now, I am enjoying the time with the littles while I can.
We head to Disney at the end of September so this summer will just be weekends at the shore, maybe a day trip to Baltimore and NYC.
T2 "graduated" from nursery school and already cant wait to go back in September. He is obsessed with this cheapo blow up pool I got him, seriously he has spent at least 20 hours in it just the past week alone. He is also fascinated with roller coasters and watches them on you tube any chance he gets. He still strips when home (not in public anymore) and is regularly naked when you come into my house. I stopped fighting it. less laundry.
T3 is a wild woman as expected. She is walking, babbling, beating up her brothers, climbing, and eating everything in sight. seriously, the kid eats everything and anything, it amazes me. its so awesome considering the boys were such picky eaters.
ETA- I almost forgot to brag about me! I am finishing up week three of C25K and really am enjoying my runs (walks with running in between). I am also down 9 lbs since starting my me transformation back in March.

Jealous of everyones vacation plans.
We have a week down in Rehoboth the week before Labor day, besides that just plugging away. I have to figure out how many vacation days I'll accrue this year with the new job. Tentatively want to do an overnight at Knoebels one week, and maybe an overnight out Hershey Park way one weekend.
Next year we tentatively have a Disney trip planned. Finally!
I think the part time thing sounds perfect. Glad it's working out for you, enjoy it!
I think it's adorable how much T2 likes the water. He is welcome over anytime he wants to come hang out in our backyard with all of his favorite things. ;-) Maybe we can pull out that slip and slide. haha.

Kel I am glad you may have found your exercise niche with running. Good luck. I keep telling DH I want to start running, so maybe I will look into that program for myself.
It's still in my basement! Kids were too little before!
I would also like to add that T1 brought home his first perfect behavior straight A report card, he's come a long way and I'm so proud of him!
Also T3's bottles are officially trashed Woot!
