Anybody regularly commute 95?
Preface- I live and work in Bel Air- it takes me 7 minutes to get to work, 10 if I hit every light.
I accepted a summer teaching position in Anne Arundal county. I have to be there at 9am. Google maps says it takes 1 hour 10 minutes. So with traffic what am I realistically looking at? If I leave at 7, will I make it?
Re: Anybody regularly commute 95?
Where in AA?
I think you could leave at 7:30 and make it there by 9.
I come from White Marsh to downtown everyday and for the most part, it's not that bad. There have been a few hellacious mornings the past two weeks but I'm chalking that up to schools getting out and people just being idiots on rainy mornings. I leave at 6:45 and am downtown in my office by 7:30.
Traffic this morning was really light and I left a half hour later...still only took me 45 minutes.
And depending on where in Pasadena, you may want to consider 95 to 695 and going over the Key Bridge. Stay away from the Harbor Tunnel at all costs, they're doing construction that will last about 8 weeks or so. Use Ft. McHenry.
Oh I can answer this one. On a good day leaving from Abingdon to Severn it takes about 45 minutes, but in the morning at all depends. I hit 95 at 7 a.m. usually and since schools been out, it takes me 20 minutes to get to White Marsh Blvd. I have another 5-8 minute drive until I get to the hospital. I think you should be fine if you leave at 7 a.m. If you arrive early you could always read in the car.
Although the week before traffic was down right sh!tty! You may even want to consider taking the Key Bridge when traffic is nasty through Baltimore. I would stay away from 895, I've heard they have the steel bridge under construction and traffic is a nightmare.
Thanks ladies. I'm starting to really dread this summer. When I accepted the job it was supposed to be half AA and half Harford. Now it's about 80% AA. I don't handle traffic well! And I can't leave any earlier than 7 because of daycare.
You should be fine leaving two hours early.
Where? I teach (er well used to teach) at Lansdowne High.
I was going to say this.
Also, you could take 95 to 295 and that drops you out in Severn area. The Key bridge will be good for Pasadena.
