How do I get G to wear shoes??
G has been walking over a month now, so I've been putting shoes on him at home every now and then. Obviously I didn't expect him to just start walking in them right away, but he refuses--he whines/cries when they're on and will only crawl or sit. Today he had taken them off within 15 minutes. I'd like to take him to the park, let him walk around outside, etc. but I can't if he won't wear shoes! *sigh*
Also, should he be wearing the soft or hard sole shoes? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Re: How do I get G to wear shoes??
I think soft soles right now are best. I got M to wear shoes by buying the ones with the squeakers in them. Plus it helped me know where she was.
To be honest M still doesn't really like to wear shoes. Whenever we get in the car she asks if she can take them off.
if he is in hard sole shoes, it might be that he just has a hard time feeling the ground. I think I remember reading that kids use their toes a lot when first walking (like in the first 6-9 months) and when they wear hard sole shoes it is really hard for them to keep their balance. Sort of like when you put tape on a cats paws.
With that said, I really like the Robeez style shoes (you can get knock offs at Target for like $15). Target also has some that G likes that are a firmer fabric, but I can't think of what they are called.
Thanks for the tip about Target because I'm not loving the prices I've seen so far!
