Hey *balbacm* - let's talk about the Cosmo!
So freakin finally I'm booking Vegas, going in August with my mom & sis - woot! We've already got 2 nights booked at the Red Rock (a fab deal through LivingSocial), and are booking the other 2 nights at the Cosmo. I'm so flippin excited about this, you know I've been dying to stay there since forever, well actually since YOU stayed there and posted those pics, HAHA.
Now tell me, which type of room was that you booked? Also, do the rooms accommodate 3 people, like is there a pullout sofa? What else should we know about this fab hotel, any tips or recs?
Thanks!!
Re: Hey *balbacm* - let's talk about the Cosmo!
awww so fun! jealous! I am trying to convince my H of a Vegas trip for Labor Day Wknd but no dice so far
we booked a Terrace Studio but ended up getting upgraded to the Terrace 1 BR Fountain View. (We typically do the $20 trick and it definitely worked here). I am not sure if the sofa was pull out - it was just the 2 of us.
We enjoyed STK (but I like other Vegas steakhouses better, namely SW Steakhouse) and the Wicked Spoon champagne brunch was very very good. Definitely have a drink a the Chandelier Bar - it's so pretty. The hotel isn't massively huge which is nice. We don't club anymore so I can't comment on Marquee but the lines were loooong with very trendy 20 somethings in black clubbing uniforms. The Japanese soaking tub was great - i loved gazing a the Eiffel Tower haha!
There's also a "hidden" pizza place on the 3rd floor that is supposed to be really good, we forgot about it so I can't comment.
Great hotel, I've only stayed there once, but would love to go back. It is just hard for me to justify spending $1K for 3 nights when we can stay for free in nice rooms at Caesars. wahhh. haha!!
Yes, that's what we're booking, the Terrace Studio. Going to try to score an upgrade to that 1 bdrm, being a long time Marriott member and a slip of the $20, hopefully that'll do the trick, lol.
Thanks for all the great recs, can't wait!!
Oh yeah, definitely planning on it, thanks!!
we stayed there last june- actually won the trip when we went to see a taping of the Rachel Ray show :-) its an amazing hotel! and even better that we didn't have to pay for it LOL
we got a terrace studio which was a great room. awesome balcony with a view of the strip- so great at night!! huge bathroom area. super comfy bed. it also had a little kitchen area with a mini bar- just be careful because we got charged for stuff that we didn't use- but they took it off with no problems. they said its some kind of sensor, so sometimes even just opening the door moves stuff around so it thinks you took something. it was only the two of us, so i dont remember if the couch was a pull out.... but the room was definitely big enough for 3 people, and i'm sure if its not a pull out, they could set something up for you.
we loved both pools there, especially the bamboo pool :-)
with the prize, we got $400 food credit to use at the restaurants at the comopolitan, which was awesome!! we loved STK- filet, and lobster mac and cheese!!! scarpetta was good- i had a black pasta with lobster. the burgers and shakes at Holtsteins were excellent, too. on our last morning, we did brunch at the Wicked Spoon Buffet. very good, with some really cool options ( watermelon gaspacho!) the hidden pizza place was great ( its like right across from the elevator thats near all of the restaurants).
we're not "club" people either, so can't comment on that. but, the chandelier bar was gorgeous. you'll have a GREAT time!
Ahh yes, I remember you raving about it, thanks for the review!
