Just found out that Mackenzie does indeed have a dairy allergy. We have to avoid dairy for now (as we have been doing) and are being referred to an allergist in the city and have been prescribed an epi pen. I'm pissed I missed the call from the pediatrician and when I called back I just got a voicemail so I can't ask my millions of questions. I think with all the specialist appointments we have in the city we may as well just move there. Seriously. I need a drink.

Re: And one more thing
Geeze I'm so sorry to hear this. It seems most my family has a dairy allergy I hope they call you back first thing in the morning so you can get some questions answered.

No body would blame you one bit for having a drink... or two or three at this point. I'm sorry you have to deal with all of this! If it makes you feel any better, my niece had such a horrible dairy allergy that she couldn't eat bread with milk in it, and by the time she was 4 she had completely outgrown it. She eats cheese, eats ice cream etc. with no issues.
Ugh I'm so sorry to hear that. Seems like you can't catch a break lately. Hopefully the dairy allergy is something that will fade away as she gets older. Good luck at her upcoming appointments.
So sorry to hear that, I hope for her that she outgrows it.
If you are still BF her have you tried coconut milk or even almond milk for yourself? I know here in Safeway you can buy it in the fridge section by the regular milk. I find it a nice alternative and at least this way I can still have cereal for breakfast.

It's funny because I am still BFing and eat dairy myself and she has never had any issues with that. They have never said anything about me not having dairy.....hmmm.....
David's mom had to eliminate dairy from her diet while she was breastfeeding because he was allergic...
And of course the pediatricians office is closed until Monday. I can't catch a break here.
hugs sweetie!!! it will all be okay
