changed their name?
We'll have been married for a month next Tuesday and I haven't even started yet!
Re: who else hasn't...
I haven't yet.. but for a reason.
We just bought a house, and I have to wait to change it until after closing.. its really a mess! I signed some stuff in my maiden name, and some in my new name. So I have to have my maiden name be what is at closing, but bring our marriage certificate to prove that I am Mrs. Sheeler now

Were you originally going to and changed your mind...?
I have just done SS. The rest has been difficult because offices are only open while I am at work... and I don't have the kind of job where I can be making personal calls at...
We also have to wait for the marriage certificate from the state - only then can we get started. Should be a fun experience
I did change my work email address though and some colleagues were kind of thrown off by it. I guess it takes getting used to for everyone, not just for us
Our marriage certificate was waiting for us when we got home from our honeymoon (3 weeks after the wedding). I had one final day off before returning to work, so I went to the SSA that day, knowing it was probably a mess on Saturdays, and I have conflicting work hours.
A week later I went to the DMV to get my license, and since then, I've been changing things as I come across them. Once I had my new SS card, I was able to change it at work, and thankfully, they spread the word to my med insurance, dental insurance, 401k, etc.. That helped.
The best thing I did was hit up the SSA that day... I knew if I didn't do it then, it would probably be forever before I did it. And I've heard that (at least in CT) there's a small window where the marriage certificate works as proof. After that window, you have to go to court to get your name changed. Forget that!
