Books

I love that so many of you ladies love to read! So just a question.. how many of you read on a kindle/kobo/nook etc. and how many of you stick to standard books. Or do you do a mix of both?

I always loved BOOKS.... and never thought i'd like an e-reader.. however I got a Kobo and absolutely LOVE it! :) I do still like a good paper book every once in a while but I do love my ereader!

Re: Books

  • I generally check books out from the library, and only buy books that I really loved- We've moved 6 times and DH is tired of moving my boxes of books all over the place. But I will download books and read them on my phone/ tablet if I'm desperate for something to read.

  • i am trying to get into reading more, i just don't make time for it.  i don't actually have an e-reader, but i bought my parents each a kindle fire for Christmas this past year and now i want one!  haha  DH has a nook and LOVES it, although he switches back and forth between it and an actual book.  I imagine I would do the same.
  • I stare at a computer screen for 8-10 hours everyday for work and just don't want to come home and look at another screen.....I love my books!
  • I love the convenience of my Nook, but if I like a book enough, I'll a copy of the book too. I know that doesn't make sense... there's just something about having it up on the shelf haha!

  • Kindle.  I will NEVER go back, it is awesome.  And now it is awesome that you can rent books from local libraries on it, and I've been thinking of getting Amazon Prime to rent one free book a month...anyone do this?  Do they have good titles?

I swear the first time I saw a Nook in-store I thought they had a cardboard/paper cutout over the screen....until I tried to use it and realized that was how it really looked!  Non-backlit screens look just like book pages, if anyone hasn't seen one in person =]

  • I LOVE my Kindle and never thought I would because I am such a booky. But it is so nice because I read so quickly and the books are cheaper (plus the loan option). I am a library kind of girl, but they don't always have everything I want. I also have so many books and the kindle helps cut back on the moving of books. I can normally read a novel a week on a normal basis when I am busy. However, being on summer vacation has provided me a lot more time so I am reading two to three novels a week (yikes! I am a speed-reader). So that kindle and I are getting along--hahaha.

Plus for the honeymoon, I just pack the kindle loaded with books and I am ready to go!

  • I still read books, but it is just because I don't have an e-reader.  I think they sound wonderful, and maybe I'll get one sometime soon! I'm not very technology driven, and I'm usually late to get all the cool stuff. :)
