PSA: Fertility Friend VIP Discount on Facebook
Hey everyone! I know not everyone is trying right now, but for those that are I wanted to let you know that Fertility Friend is offering their a discount on their annual VIP membership through their Facebook page. You have to like their page and then go to their promos. They give you a personalized link to purchase the VIP membership for $24.95 for a year.
Re: PSA: Fertility Friend VIP Discount on Facebook
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
Michelle, I didn't want people to see that I liked FF's FB page so I changed the settings on my account beforehand. I edited my "Likes" page and set it so that "Other Pages You Like" is visible to "Only Me". After I purchased my VIP membership, I unliked FF's page and changed the settings back.
If you don't want to purchase now, I've heard that FF offers the discount fairly often so it might come up again when you are ready. There's also an option to pause your account.
From Fertility Friend:
Pause Your Account
If you need to take a break in your TTC journey for medical reasons or other reasons, you can pause your account until you return. This will allow you to save your VIP time for when you are ready to use it. This feature is subject to the following conditions:
* You have a valid paid VIP subscription
* You have at least 15 days left on your subscription
* You have not put your account on hold in the last 60 days
IMPORTANT: You have to leave your account on pause for at least 15 days for the pause to be effective. You will not be able to access your account at all, including your charts/calendars/data, pregnancy features and free features during the hold period. To re-activate your account you just need to login again.
Thank Cony. I went ahead and purchased the membership. It was a really good deal. I did hide the "like" on my page. Good point that I can un-like it now that I've bought the membership.
You had so much great advice above. Thanks. I'm currently trying to figure my way around the site. I've been interested in charting for awhile. I have an app on my phone that tracks my period so I've been using the date from that to update FF. Now I just need to go buy the thermometer.
I bought mine on Amazon.

A lot of people seem to like the Mabis brand one at Walmart or the CVS brand one. I bought the Mabis one and it starting dying less than a week later. I got another one and it seems to work fine.
I got the one the TCOYF recommended off Amazon. (Am sent me the link on TK).
I did the trial version of VIP FF and it was nice. I thought about it but decided not too. A girl on the GP board asked if it was worth it, and most the ladies on there said it wasn't a big deal to use the free version.
Michelle, will you start trying to TTC in a couple months, or you are going to start charting in a few months? Either way, how EXCITING!
Anyone else use OPKs from Wandfo?
I just purchased these and will start using them this cycle. I'm not sure yet what day I'll start testing and whether I'll do once or twice a day. Jen, what do you do?

This is what I'm thinking of doing. It's from TCOYF in the part discussing the Shettles method:
Test between 11 AM and 3 PM. Test again after 5 PM. Tests should be spaced about ten hours apart, with noon and 10 PM considered ideal.
I'll have to look into the thermometers available from Amazon. I was doing some research yesterday of what's available through Walmart and Walgreens. I wasn't very impressed.
We will start TTC in September. Currently we are not using any form of BC, if it happens on it's own, great! But if it doesn't happen by September then I was going to start being more proactive. I was thinking I might start trying to chart now just to get the hang of it. Once September gets here, I'll probably start buying some OPKs.
This is basically where we are at too. We're not actively trying right now but I wanted to start charting to get to know my cycles more. The OPKs on Amazon were just so cheap that I decided to go ahead and start using those as well.
YAY for babies being born! I will just be the cool internet aunt.
I like the ones off amazon. So cheap, so I don't mind testing often. I usually do it around 2 pm in the afternoon.
I might start using OPKs in August just to get used to them before I really need to understand or rely on them. Especially if they are cheap.
YAY for an internet aunt! I still talk to DH about everyone on this board. Sometimes he just gives me this funny look. Yes, I do consider everyone on our board a friend. It's one of the few avenues I have to talk to other people besides DH since I'm always busy with work/school/homework.
I've heard of the knotties getting together before. Maybe down the road at some point we could all do that. I know a lot of us are in transition right now with jobs and other huge things like moving. But maybe someday.
