Sun- Seafood and more seafood. DH wanted to go to the outdoor fish market for Father's Day so we ended up with clams, shrimp, scallops, and red snapper. Sugar snap peas and some corn on the cob as sides.
Mon- Chicken masala (TJ's simmer sauce), cauliflower, chickpeas and cous cous
Tues- Salmon, green beans, orzo
Weds- Meatloaf, snap peas, mashed potatoes
Thurs- baseball game for DH's birthday
Fri- London Broil, macaroni salad, and coconut cake for the birthday boy
Sat- no plans, not even sure where we will be. I am rooting for beach.
Sun- Belizean Chicken Stew (similar to http://riceandbeansindc.blogspot.com/2011/02/belizean-stewed-chicken.html) with jasmine rice.
Re: s/o meals- What's cooking?
I actually meal planned this week! I wrote them out this morning on my white board so hopefully we'll (read: "I'll" since I'm the one who cooks) be more likely to stick with it.
Monday: I marinated some chicken on Saturday in BBQ sauce and never used it. I'll be baking that tonight with brown rice and a salad.
Tuesday: I have an eye doctor appointment so it's a whatever dinner. I'll probably have cereal, assuming my eyes will be dilated.
Wednesday: Turkey tacos. Since all the cooking is just browning the meat, I'm not worried about it being too hot.
Thursday: The hubs has softball (with the heat - yikes!) and I'm not so sure I will feel like cooking. So I'm thinking either leftovers or breakfast for dinner.
Friday: we have a wedding
Saturday: unsure if we'll be home at dinnertime. If we are, either take out or some sort of chicken.
I took DH food shopping with me this past Friday night. Big mistake. I make lists based on sales, budget, etc....and he wanders the store and buys 100884 pounds of random produce and meats that have to be used up within 2 days or it goes bad. That being said, I've got:
Monday: BBQ pulled pork sandwiches with fries and a side salad
Tuesday: Leftover kabobs from Sunday, with a salad
Wednesday: Thinking grilled chicken over spinach salad (can you tell DH went crazy on a sale on salads?)
Thursday: Probably tuna sandwiches or melts, since it will be so darn hot out
Friday: DH is coaching at a swim meet until Lord knows when, and I am stuck working late because our pool at work opens Friday. Since Ais will be with my parents at a family grad party that I can't make, I'll have to pick her up from my parents...so either I'll probably mooch something off them, or grab take-out on my way to or from getting her.
Saturday: Hoping to get to go out to dinner to celebrate me surviving (well, hopefully) my first pool Saturday of the season at work, and DH (again, hopefully) surviving his first triathlon....have a few gift certificates to choose from
Jamie that is precisely why DH is banned from coming food shopping with me or going himself lol.
Sunday- Dinner at my parents' house for Father's Day
Tonight- DH wants to grill up some Johnsonville Brats, so we'll probably have those with a salad
Rest of the week- I have to work every other night this week, so DH will be on his own and I'll probably be eating a 6" from Subway every night. Though we have tons of stuff in the freezer (ground meat, chicken, etc.), DH will probably go to Tony Lukes or the local deli everynight.
Sun- we were supposed to go out somewhere yummy but dh's softball tourney ran crazy late so it was leftover pizza for me and the kids
Mon- grilled salmon, broccoli rabe, baked potato
Tues- fathers day dinner at in laws
Wed- baseball night so probably Chinese take out I'll pick uP on the way home
Thurs- I intend to get to the market to get some good specialty sausage to grill but in case not it will be linguini and clams as a backup
Fri-sat- shorebound

OMG this is totally me! DH has to go food shopping with me or I'll spend $500 dollars no problem. When I go with DH, it's like $150. When left alone, I come out with $500. I don't know how he does it but I will say that we have a better selection of stuff when I go, haha! The same thing happens at Target... and pretty much everywhere for that matter. I possibly have a spending issue.
